Yes, you are right. The purpose of Daesh [TTP in the Arab World] was similarly to sow hate for Islam in the long term among the hearts of the Levantine and Rafidayn Sunni Arabs/Kurds/Turkoman, who formed the vast majority of the Muslim populace there. The enemy designed Daesh and TTP for the same purpose. However, except for the Kurds and Turkomans, the Arabs have lost heroes in antiquity to look up to, but a large number have still fallen away from associating with Islam, and now espouse a strange kind of neo Arab nationalism, tribalism, and liberalism. The Islamic identity, the traditional one, has watered-down among large populations.
