SSB/Turkish Army have an advanced IFV program to be produced in different variants. The number of IFVs to be produced for Army will exceed 1500 units. At present, IFV’s engine (905hp) are being developed, then the project itself will be kicked off. The size of IFV program is very large so Turkish industry will produce them with maximum input including engine and transmissions. A derivative of Kaplan-MT will be the biggest candidate in that program. The biggest rival of Kaplan will be another domestic product Tulpar variants developed by Otokar.
