What's new

Indonesia is afraid of China's Military

whatever, mind your own country business and i will keep my distance from you, and honestly i don't like, very-very much don't like Human rights promoter it was my very nature to bashing them

OK this is my last comment in this thread, but this last comment of yours is sickening. The plight of these poor modern days slaves, alot of which are Indonesians, has been uncovered and getting assisted by these people that you are bashing. It just gives me the impression that you are a blind nationalist and only cared about the reputation of your country and not the well being of your people. I sincerely hope that I'm wrong.

OK I'm logging out.

Peace.

I see your posts multiple times in a row and you are talking to a Viet. That meant you are talking to that one viet who I already add in my ignore list. That guy is very consistently on his stupid premise and never stray from it. It is like talking to a rock. Apparently since I don't agree with him, I wasn't a Viet and some sort of fake chinese person just trying to troll him >___<. You should add him to the ignore list. I should start adding more chineses on here in my ignore list also.

This issue was known long ago. Many private human rights advocate (and even sometime govt representatives) have approached various countries of concern and no actions were taken. Did I ever say the current Indonesian govt was the same govt of the past?

My oh my, You don't get the point. It's never about what you know. It is about what You do! And despite your rambling, you can see actions. You see Indonesian Government DO show thier concern and they DO their part of responsibility to tackle and respond swiftly and accordingly toward this problems.

Still, your current govt must have known this issue and the enslavement of Indonesian labourers in the past and present (if they don't, then they must be very incompetent). Yet have they ever spoke about it earlier? The recent crack down managed to caught the attention of foreign media and you guys manage to spin it and make it out that your govt has discovered a new issue and is determined to tackle it ASAP. The reality is probably, the illegal crack down has highlighted something that the Indonesia govt never really cared about but is forced to deal with it now. That's my impression.

Impression is just that, impression. It's never mean to be the Truth. If our NEW Government didn't at the first place put fishing moratorium on thousands foreign fishing vessels that operate on our sea, which is mostly illegal. And If our NEW Governmet didn't at the first place take drastic measure to deter illegal poacher by sinking and blowing up their precious boats and put heavy pressure on supply chain for fishing industry on ASEAN region (mostly Thai, Viet, and Phil). The WORLD's eye will never interested to see and uncover what really happen there at the first place.

Look, if your current govt was truly concerned about the slavery issue, they would have raised this issue earlier to work on it because they already knew about it (again, if they never knew about it, then they must be very incompetent).

Like I said, this is NOT something new or some kind of problem that was not known before. Foreign govts have raised the issue since the mid-1990. You don't need the recent illegal crack down to realize what was going on. If your current indonesia govt truly didn't know about this issue before the crack down, then they must be VERY incompetent. But I have the feeling that they do know about it and is only forced to deal with it now since the recent media attention. I hope I'm wrong though.

If the WORLD really concern about slavery industry, they will put BAN on Vietnamese and Thailand fishing Industry long, long, long time ago! But the new Indonesian Goverment is concern about this issue, so with our action, we will put pressure to the WORLD to BAN this irresponsible fishing industry today!

This is nothing to do with nationalism. It's about humanity. I'm just raising the point that this slavery problem was widely known with world leaders, but most ASEAN govt, which include the past Indonesian govt, have long ignored it.

Maybe, it's your defense, i will not argue about that. Whatever had happened already happened. We have to see toward the future. Our new president have put the maritime vision for Indonesian future, and the new drastic measure taken by the new government that you see today is part of our step to achieve this vision.

Look I'm not saying it isn't illegal, just that it's not a decision born out of malice, I been on fishing boats before. It's a tough life, and a risky one, even without the confiscating of the ships.

It's always easy to say, well they should have followed the rules, there are lots of reasons why they couldn't or didn't. Does it justify it? In the eyes of the law, no. We, however are human, all I can say is Indonesia is not a rich country, it cannot be like the US where it can strictly follow the law, as it just doesn't have the resources to do so.

As to human slavery, that should be stopped and investigated anyways. Tiananman forced the CCP to go on the reform path and never look back, that however doesn't justify it.

I'm not comparing it, just saying.

Just adding, if you want other to respect you as big country, then do as big country do. Don't openly promote blatant illegal things in other country, it will raise bad feeling, not good for everyone. I bet you still remember the British with their opium in China? Don't make the same mistake, time has already changed, you can't invaded everyone anymore like the way they do.

As a richer country, China can and in most case already smarter than the other, simply work with the local businessman/government and invest in Indonesia fishery industries or canned factory, bought the live product. Win-win solution for everyone.

The bold part, sorry to say, but kind of imperialist and racist view. Even if Indonesia is not a rich country, doesn't it deserve to make their own law and try their best to implement it? Especially if the law aim to make their own people livelihood better.

why the hell provoke China-Indonesia relationship?

I highly doubt Indonesia is afraid, despite what some European media is trying to portray. On the contrary, Indonesia and China have quite good relations and both want keep SCS water calms. Vietnam and Philippines inviting the USA into these domestic waters is troublesome to say the least. If Vietnam and Philippines want to offer themselves as the USA's 52nd and 53rd states then they are definitely threats to the neighborhood. Nothing wrong with China as the SCS's protector, as it is in China's best interest to see it prosper and everyone benefits. Indonesia understands this and sees their future potential so they have no reason to piss China off, unlike the Philippines and Vietnam.
indonesia has no major problemwith PRC, our relationship is pretty much ok.

As a big country, China is more peace than what u said here ... Do u like a USSR-style China? or America-style China? or Russia-style China? or Imperial Japan-style China? China is the China and Chinese love PEACE, when we get strong the Asia is more PEACE ! If u don't trust it, just check out Asia History, at least History do not lie ! right now we r parts of the human history.

The "Silk Road" project is China future to invest foreign nations, it means Chinese love PEACE & DEVELOPMENT, not Invasion. Just today i read Chinese news China Banks will provide 50billion USD loans to Indonesia state-owned companies to help ur development, im sure soon u will read the news in Indonesia media.

LOL ... now they complain this or that to China, just forget 70-year ago other invaders killed millions of their ppl in the War, not China ... and during 70 years China didn't disturb them yet. (Of course except Vietnam-China war).

Now they call China as the invader ?! Ironically, u r lucky not playing game with U.S / USSR/ Russia / Imperial Japan.

You need to read my post within the context of the person that i quote again.

I agree China is China, that's why i said to your country man don't promote doing illegal thing in other country. Remember, most of China and Taiwan businessman albeit with plenty of grey already trying to work within Indonesia rule, apply permit, work with local businessman. That's why I said that as richer country China can and in most case already smarter than the other. So i don't understand why some of you trying to drag them down to Viet/Thai illegal fisher level......

A good advice.

if Japan didn't launch that damn war, Asia will be much better now.

The war facilitated the demise of European imperialism. One could argue that the war did bring about nationalism and pro -independence measures. Three men who were influenced to resist European imperialism while under Japanese control:

1) Sukarno
2) Ho Chi Minh
3) Subhas Chandra Bose
