Indo-Russian Fifth Generation Fighter R & D Negotiations Resolved: IAF Chief

which jet ? name please ? Tejas ko JF-17 sambhal laiga us ka masla nahi hai .
120 Tejas vs 250 Thunders :partay:

Not interested in a pissing match but maybe it should be remembered that any Pakistani aircraft, be it the JF-17 or any other (and I'm not even comparing the JF-17 & the Tejas) would have to first survive the nearly 300 Su30mki's, the 100 + of Mig29's & Mirage 2000's and probably even the 36 Rafales.........Only then will the Tejas even be an issue. Not great odds.

The thing is newly poped up mews of india's mmrca after rafale deal is something that wont go on . India has no funds currently for that . Plus india wont induct 120 tejas now. My friend working In HAL and 2 other IAF friends said that only 60-50 tejas will come that too by 2023. As for FGFA this news keeps coming every day while india currently is not serious on this and russian side doesnt want to do this instead russia is offering india S400 as a compensation for rejection on FGFA.

2 inducted, and one more on finale stage of induction. By 2018-19 we will have 40 Tejas.

I can also ask u. How many block have you inducted

Your tejas will take more 6-7 years to reach the number of thunders in PAF
90 in Service planned 250 .
1st 50 BLK 1
2nd 40 BLK 2 (Inproduction)
3rd 70-80 BLK 3 (Planned work continue)
4th 70-80 BLK 4 (Non export version)

first survive the nearly 300 Su30mki's,
out of which 60% are not in service..:D

Why the F does no one bring Mig-29UPGs , upgraded Jaguars and Mirage-2000s in the dick measuring contests.

out of which 60% are not in service..:D

Funny you brought that up, it's called availability rate. Which means the jets that will be down because of regular services. If you measure the availability rate of other fighters, F-15s have availability rate of 59% (According to a former USAF pilot in Keypublishing), US F-16s have close to 80%, that means Pakistani F-16s will have lower than that. And with localization of components in India, MKIs have an availability rate a little over 70% in peacetime.

out of which 60% are not in service..:D

Regardless of the inaccuracies of that figure, my point was merely to remind everyone that this is not a boxing tournament where people stick to their own weight classes. The chance of a JF-17 or even the F-16 going up against the Tejas is remote because the other aircrafts in the Indian armory are not about to give the JF-17/F-16 a pass & sit out the fight.

Sukhoi PAK FA fifth generation fighter aircraft

“The two sides are believed to have agreed on a $4-billion “R&D Contract” that could see HAL and Sukhoi co-develop and build up to 250 FGFAs for the IAF,” he added. “[Earlier, the IAF] found gaps in information on transfer of technology; how they (Sukhoi) have achieved these 5th generation technologies, and in visibility of the total cost. So these issues were flagged… and now a lot of clarity has come on these issues. Hopefully things will be decided sooner rather than later on the FGFA,” Raha said.

The final R&D contract for the FGFA was on hold till now despite the two countries having first inked an inter-governmental agreement in 2007 and then following it up with a $295 million preliminary design contract in 2010.

Earlier reports had said New Delhi had proposed that instead of commencing the detailed project report(DPR), India would pay for three prototypes and transfer of technology (TOT) instead of US$6 billion for the DPR and joint production.

It is not clear if India wants to use the prototypes and TOT to set up its own production line in India.
It is never going to get resolved. It is another gorshkov in making.
