IndiGo has won the Skytrax World Airline Award 2012 for the Best Low-Cost Airline in Central Asia/India. The airline has won this award for the third time in a row. 6E (IndiGos IATA code) has also bagged the Best Staff Service in Central Asia/ India award at the ceremony held at the Farnborough International Air show in London recently.
Speaking on the achievement, Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo, said, To be recognised at the world stage, for the two most prestigious accolades, is indeed exhilarating yet a humbling experience. It is really big for us and this recognition is proof enough to let everybody know that customer service is not just a department but an attitude. Fine customer service is clearly reflected when it is done from the heart and that is what we at IndiGo take pride in. What is even more thrilling is that we are the only airline from India to have received an award at the Skytrax World Airline Award this year. IndiGo was also nominated in the category of Best Airline in Central Asia / India.
The passenger survey for these awards covered 246 airlines and measured standards across more than 38 different items of airline front-line product and service. Operated over a ten-month period, the passenger survey achieved more than 18.8 million interviews, drawn from over 100 different nationalities across the world. The award study analyses customer satisfaction for the airline passenger experience, across the airport and onboard environments.
