India's Tejaswini shoots gold in World Championship
Tejaswini Sawant created history after the ace shooter won gold in World Shooting Championships in Munich on Sunday (August 8).
Sawant grabbed gold in the 50m Rifle Prone event to become the first Indian women to win the World Championships.
Sawant hails from the Maharashtrian city of Kolhapur. In 2006, she won gold medals in Womens 10m Air Rifle singles and Women's 10m Air Rifle Pairs (with Avneet Kaur Sidhu) events at the Commonwealth Games at Melbourne.
