A good amount of this aid we get is given to foreign NGOs operating in IndiaGreat, then you can just stop receiving aid. Why take other people's money and give it away?

Many of them use this money to push their agendas here

I'm talking about funding from UK and USA as well as some other western countries. The funding from Japan has mostly gone to infraWhat agenda would Japan (India's biggest donor) possibly pursue in India? Other than helping prop it up against China..
Look at the other side of the coin. We too supplied them with covid aid when they were suffering. It was india which exported affordable vaccines to the worldyeah we have seen it during covid blood bath in india when ou were looking for even 1 oxigen container

Time to put things in perspective for friends quoting selectively from OECD report . Either intentionally with a motive or just lazy to go over the report.
Here is the screen capture of the total aid. Look at the total figures for India and few neighbours. Point to note, China has taken the highest amount of aid. By the superior logic of our friends, China should be in the worst state. But that is not the case.
Is this aid a dole? It is not. Actually, it consists mainly of loans. Papa Xi takes cheap loans from donors and then lends the same money to our friends here at a much higher rate.

Aid figures to some our friendly neighbours are also marked. Those with inclination, can work out per capita figures to know, who stands where.
Aid consists of Grant and loans. Grants are a dole but loans are not. Loans are not good but not that bad either. Loans become bad when countries taking loans survive from loan to loan with sword of default hanging over their heads all the time. Such countries also find it very difficult to get loans since no one wants their money in the hands of potential defaulters. Good examples of this are Pakistan and Srilanka.
Better managed countries maintain a good credit history and can easily get loans at nominal rates.
Countries with big aid numbers include Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. And we know where they stand economically and socially.
On the other hand, few counties with lower aid figures are tottering at the edge for reasons well known. Hence, cheering/jeering can stop and a little introspection would be a better idea.
Japan is a major aid (loan) giver to India, at very reasonable rates. Much lower then what China gives to our friendly neighbours.
Why to India? Politics and economics is the reason.
"India's Plan"? We have heard more than enough of this term. India "Plans" a lot, but that's about it.
Actually most of the aid that falls in the category of grants and dole comes to NGOs pushing thier agenda.A good amount of this aid we get is given to foreign NGOs operating in India

Debt trap your thick indian skull.Actually most of the aid that falls in the category of grants and dole comes to NGOs pushing thier agenda.
India has stopped taking dole/grants mostly. Except situations like natural calamities when quick response is critical.
India can’t upstage China. Chinsee economy is too big for India to match it one to one. Except when China gives a chance. China followed the policy of debt trap which has unravelled now.
