East Bengal was always a prosperous part of India (due to agricultural assets and hard work) and produced the majority of GDP even for Mughal India - starting in 1300 AD. It is only due to other entities like West Bengal baboos under the British exploiting us that we temporarily fell on hard times. Kolkata wasn't even anywhere on the map before the British arrived.

I don't know what's the issue of Hindustanis and what rubs other people of SC the wrong way?

Hindustanis historically have laid claims over all of India (as they believe the rest of former India including Bangladesh has less clueful people) without realizing that their claims over the rest of former India does not hold water.

Hindustanis want ideally for Bangladesh to become a subservient buffer state and a convenient market, a situation which we have patiently tolerated for five decades now.

If Bangladesh becomes too strong, Hindustanis mistakenly believe that would become a problem for Hindustan cow-belt proper geopolitically, which could not be farther from the truth.

No one in Bangladesh really cares about Hindustan or its inhabitants because for eons, they have been an indisciplined, hard-to-manage group of people, used to living in filth. As long as Hindustanis keep to themselves, we don't really care.

Bangladeshis simply do not want anyone (including Hindustanis) to exploit us, including our own leaders who are Hindustani agents. They exceed their limits and they will be overthrown, as simple as that.

Bengal was initially divided along religious lines by British in 1905. After lot of protests, they were forced to reverse the decision after a few years.
In 1947, Muslim League wanted a new nation based on religious lines. If thats the case, then why are you crying over not having West Bengal.

lol... Muslim League wanted United Bengal under H.S Suhrawardy.. Hindu mahasaba rejected the proposal due to their inherent dislike of Muslims who they saw as dalits.
