Usually when in Pakistan someone cannot make arrangement (burial material and food) for the funeral, other people do it for free. I think other Indians should come to the rescue of the poor people who cannot pay 30 thousand for cremation or govt should do it for them.

Indians should bury the victims at least temporarily. It's a more respectful act than throwing them in water and watching them smell, deform and become water pollution... and then spread the disease even further.

Transport dead bodies to the desert areas and bury them until you can afford to cremate them.

Man that's extremely disrespectful to float and decompose openly like a stray dog who died.They are human beings we are talking about. No doubt why India is facing a covid disaster like no other country on earth because the moral decay in indian society has exceeded all limits. I am sorry to say but this looks like a wrath of god on them . There are many Muslims who are cremating the dead of the Hindus. These are people whose own families and friends have abandoned their dead bodies.

Why not just did mass graves and bury them ?

In I think hinduism allow them to bury if the tradition cremation is not possible for whatever reason.
Our hindus in the sindh mostly bury their dead.

Is it true?

Yes. Most cities are now limiting prices people have to pay for cremations. But even there, people are paying bribes to get their kin cremated earlier. Those who cannot, their deceased's body is being left to rot until their turn comes.

In one city, based on personal information, since the cremation grounds are full, people are going to rural villages to cremate their dead, and in turn, the villagers are getting pissed off and blocking access for people to their village.

All in all, a sad scene.

This tradition of throwing dead bodies is there only in UP....it is considered that the dead will attain heaven if their bodies are thrown in ganga..it was widely practised once upon a time in UP but in recent times it has reduced due to strict measures from govt.
UP, Bihar , Bengal , MP, chattisgarh, orissa are a different world from the rest of india.
Its really sad there is a lot of disparity between states that belong to the same country.
