Indian woman murdered husband for not being handsome enough

CUDDALORE: A newly married Indian woman allegedly murdered her husband because of not being handsome, police said on Thursday.

The 22-year old woman, who got married about a week ago, attacked her husband with a grinding stone and smashed his head which lead to his death.

Police said the woman started hating her husband, a wood sculptor in his mid 20s, because her friends and relatives said he was not handsome and not an appropriate match for her.

Although the woman came out pretending someone had murdered her husband, police after investigation arrested her on charges of killing the man.

A local court remanded her to judicial custody.

There is no concept of divorce in vedic tradition. Divorce is a Abrahamic concept. But since modern day Hindu law is based on Christian principles she had an option to divorce.
