Indian students should consider studying in China

. . . .
stop it from turning into a India vs China bashing thread please

I apologize if i came across as such. But my only intention in this thread was to explain exactly "why" Indian students are reluctant to go to China.

. .
Its all fine and dandy. But most Indian students are reluctant. This is because the value of a Chinese degree is next to worthless in India. If you get a Chinese medical degree, you can kiss your prospects of practicing in India goodbye. As for the technical degrees ,companies in India are heavily biased AGAINST it. A student from a low tier college in India has a greater chance of securing a job in India than a student with a premium degree from China.

Dont bash me, dont call me troll. Im just telling you how things are around here. If you have good connections though, getting a job with even a libyan degree is possible.

Normally, students who head for China are those who find it too hard to compete in entrance exams of India.

I think that's true in every country. A cousin of mine graduated from one of the top Canadian universities and told me she wouldn't be able to get a job in Beijing if not for my uncle's connections, as employers prefer Chinese universities over foreign ones.

What you know or what you dont know are none of my concern. My only intention was to point out why Indian students do not prefer China for higher studies. It has little to do with quality of degree or anything....rather, i feel people are extremely prejudiced. They simply assume a Chinese degree is inferior.

Its very tough especially for medical students graduating from Chinese institutions. Unless they are very rich and have good connections....there is no hope for a decent job within India. Even then it will take him/her a huge amount of time build up.

And I'm telling you a fact: the best of India does not match up to the medium level in China. But unlike in India, people elsewhere hold no such prejudice against degrees for where they are given. Tsinghua beats UC Berkeley as the source of US graduate student researchers. US also recognizes Chinese medical degrees. My old school in China has Chinese grad students who went to University of Science/Tech Chittagong for their BS degree and were never looked as inferior.

I'm willing to bet that the rigid heirarchy mindset of Indians is responsible for your current backwardness.

Your perception is was quite right, no need to apologize, This perception definitely exists but might change in the future.

{Haha, Chinese also prefer your not-coming to China, we dont want to make things black}

Racist...

It is true. We can look at all the parameters measuring innovation in a country, and the conclusion will still be the same. What you should be interested in is the reason why IITs are behind us, and why we are behind white people.

This is not racial. I'm talking about the schools. There are alot of smart Indians, but IIT is failing them, and Indian education system is failing them.
