It's a very proud moment for India when Indian railway officials are imparting their expertise and knowledge to the Chinese. I hope the Chinese do their best to learn from Indian Railways.

Beijing: The first batch of the 100 Indian Railway officials, who are to receive training in heavy-haul technology in China, has begun their 12-day coaching at the Jiaotong University.

The inauguration ceremony for training in the heavy-haul technology for the 22 officers from the Indian Railway was held at Beijing Jiaotong University yesterday, an Indian Embassy press release issued here today said.

The 12-day training programme, which is being conducted by Beijing Jiaotong University under the supervision of National Railway Administration of China, is the first step in the cooperation envisaged by India and China in the MoU and Implementation Plan on Cooperation in Railways.

The training involving 100 Indian officers will lay emphasis on onsite training covering operational and maintenance facilities, monitoring systems and traffic controls.

Four more batches from Indian railway officials will be trained at the Beijing Jiatong University in heavy-haul technology in the next two years, the press release said.

The training was part of the MoU signed during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to India in September this year.

Under the MoU, China will do a free feasibility study for a high-speed train corridor. India has chosen the Delhi-Chennai route for this study.

India currently is considering two corridors for high-speed trains.

While Japan is conducting feasibility study for the Bullet train project in Mumbai-Ahemdabad corridor, China will do the same for the Delhi-Chennai route which is expected to begin by early next year.

If materialised, the Indian bullet train project is a major gain for China which is making an aggressive pitch to market its high speed train technology outside the country.

Besides the high-speed train, India and China have agreed to cooperate to identify the technical inputs required to increase speed on the existing railway line from Chennai to Mysore via Bangalore.

Under the September agreement, China will also cooperate in setting up a Railway University in India.

@Luca1 @Chinese-Dragon @Developereo @Gufi & all those Chinese and Pakistan-resident-Chinese who love bashing Indians every time someone talks about Indian growth rate!

Is this another "Indian" boasting and bragging about India? Or the ever humble "talk-less-do-more" Chinese? :enjoy:

Look at his username -- he is dedicated to troll "India"! He has been merrily doing this for a long long time now. But somehow it must be the Indians boasting all the time, right?

Check his posts, I've only ever seen him bragging about how Modi is going to turn India into a superpower by 2020.

Which is quite pessimistic compared to President Kalam's prediction of 2012.

I just hope Indian government keeps the safety and security of its citizens in mind while awarding the HSR contract to any company. Life is far more important than money that reliable companies charge extra for their better quality and safety standards. :)

He never said 2012.

I dont get it.
The training would have made sense if the HSR contracts had been awarded. So far its only on the feasibility study stage, so for what exact purpose in heavy hauling are the Indian Rail officials studying in China?

I dont think you have experience of workings of our PSUs.

Those 100 chaps got a luxury holiday in China plus a very handsome living allowance at the expense of Indian taxpayer :D

Dr.Kalam didnot expect UPA govt at the helm of affairs when he made those predictions.Lol

Are you saying that if its not the UPA in charge all these years, India would be a superpower by now?

But on the other hand, when he said it UPA was in charge as it was 2008. Read from CD's link In post#7

May be ...may be not...but the probabilities were higher had UPA-2 not formed a govt at the center.
