Indian opposition proposes a new foreign policy regarding South Asia including Sri lanka.

The Bharathiya Janatha Party of India says that it will introduce a new foreign policy regarding the South Asian region including Sri Lanka.

A senior Party Leader Yaswanth Singh stated that their proposed foreign policy would be a model similar to that of the 19th Century US Monroe Doctrine policy introduced regarding Latin America.

Under the provisions of the Monroe Doctrine policy, European countries were barred from influencing Latin American nations.

At the same time, America was vested with legal power to take action in the event any European country tried to interfere in the internal affairs of Latin American countries.

Yaswanth Singh also recommended to implement this new policy regarding its neighboring countries including Sri Lanka when his party forms a government in the future.

He also said that under such new foreign policy, China, Russia and the United States will be unable to interfere in political and economical affairs of South Asian nations including Sri Lanka.

Yaswanth Singh also stated that if those countries need to intervene in any affair in South Asian countries, such outside countries should do it with the blessings of India.

The BJP Senior Leader further said that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have got closer to China in the recent past due to absence of such a foreign policy in India.

When USA interferes in South Asia, they do seek India's council as seen in their recognition of current Bangladesh government or dilution of Security council resolution against Sri Lanka on India's urging ( since we could not have voted against it due to Tamil pressure )

USA and Russia may be okey, but what about China, will China accept that policy of India? How will Pakistan will respond to that Policy?
China and even USA wont let India dominate South Asia for long. US is cosy with India as long as It suits USA policy against China. They moment India adopts an independent China policy, things will change sooner then any indian can expect.

we projected our "Influence" several times,even we're having a not so active foreign policy.
