LAHORE: Indian national Kashmir Singh has been set free after 35 years from the Koth Lakhpat jail here on Monday after President Pervez Musharraf pardoned him.
Kashmir Singh seemed happy when he came out of Koth Lakhpat jail. He has embraced Islam and named Ibrahim during his long detention behind bars.
Kashmir Singh was garlanded when he emerged out of the jail with Caretaker Human Rights Minister Ansar Burney. He will stay in a five star hotel tonight and Ansar Burney will take Kashmir Singh to the Wagah border tomorrow.
Paramjit Kaur, wife of Kashmir Singh along with others family members will receive her husband whom he married at the age of 16 and who has been waiting for Kashmir Singh for the last 35 years. She said people told her that Kashmir was dead but she did not lose hope.
