Right legal solution by British in 1947 would have been to have a referendum in subcontinent with following option.

1. Whole subcontinent stays as one nation.
2. Partition on basis of princely states.

Given the political mood of that time the referendum vote would have resulted in a single nation.

What is Kalat? Pakistani double standard, no?

Bangali babu kalat was a princely state in the middle of Balochistan which was one of the last states to merge with Pakistan.. The merger was made by none other than the ruler of kalat and it was much later that his brother spread militancy and later asked for amnesty.. Even today the heirs of Khan of Kalat are pro Pakistan.. His great grandson being the legal heir.
