Defence News - Indian Air Force to receive air-launched version of BrahMos missile in 2016

NEW DELHI, August 06./ITAR-TASS/. BrahMos
Aerospace will be ready to deliver to the Indian Air
Force the air-launched version of the BrahMos
supersonic cruise missile in 2016, the company new
President Sudhir Kumar Mishra said on Wednesday.
The air-launched missile will be installed on the Sukhoi
Su-30MKI fighters, the head of the Russian-Indian JV
told ITAR-TASS in an interview.
“The missile development is going on schedule. Its
launch from the Su-30MKI fighter will be carried out by
the year end, and the deliveries will start in 2016,” he
said.

I think only 42 Su-30 MKIs will be modified to carry Brahmos.
How many missiles will be delivered to IAF ?

How many missiles will be delivered to IAF ?

Nope- all Su-30MKIs will be able to carry the Bhramos on there centreline but the last 42 (in the process of being delivered to India ) will have strengthened airframes allowing them to carry 3 AL-Bhramos (centreline and one each on the wings). This issue will be addressed by the Bhramos mini that will be small and light enough for all Su-30MKI to carry 3 along with Rafales, MiG-29UPG, MiG-29K and M2K.
