...or the more likely scenario is that just like the rest of the Indian government...Bipin didn't see this coming either and is now just plain lying.

He may think that this statement is somehow doing some damage control...or maybe he just said it so he doesn't have to admit to failure but he is not helping...neither himself nor his country.

There is a difference between knowing and having an opinion.

India analysts may have a fear, an opinion, a probability that Taliban take over the state - but their confidence wasn't at the level of KNOWING. Reason? India kept on pushing against the Taliban, rather stepped up its opposition by arming ANA against Taliban.

But if India KNEW that the Taliban will return yet kept playing against them, it just makes them look more stupid and a bigger moron because they knew the Taliban will take over - yet failed to mend times with them in time, or at least stop opposing them.
