What will be the impact on other South Asian Countries, If India trying to impose US polices on South Asia.

Today India & USA proudly talked about a Partnership live telecast were given on CNN, BBC & Aljazeera English.

There may be future problems for Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Nepal.

Specially indirectly aimed at China, all other South Asian counties Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Nepal maintains strong relations with China.

India should understand joining a western country against another Asian country won’t be good for India.

If India trying to support USA at the cost of its relations with neighboring countries China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Nepal it will cost India very much.

Then normally common interest of China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Nepal will become to counter India it will be too dangers to India.

India should understand friends can change but always neighboring countries will be same always.

India has no influence on Pakistan, so that country is out of the picture.

What significant interest does US have in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan?

You are simply over-reacting with no basis at all.

Obama is just here to get multi-billion dollar contracts that will bring jobs to Americans and he is here to convince India that its China who is the main threat (and not Pakistan).

India will become the American mouth piece of south Asia much like Pakistan was until the 70's when we realized that American friendship wasn't in our best interest strategically.

Now lets evaluate India's potential role..
A1. Influence in Pakistan - Nil zero
1. influence in Afghanistan - so far so fail
2. Influence in central asia - good
3. Influence in Russia - good but cannot be persuaded in pro-American direction. Russian will keep the upper hand in all decisions
4. Influence in Bangladesh - currently very good but likely balanced with China in future
6- Influence in Sir Lanka - balanced with Pakistan and China
7- with its own starving in million and poor quality of industrial man power it has very little to offer vis a vis china.

Where was all this fear when Pakistan was the major American ally for decades, and still is?
