Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Vikram Kumar Doraiswami calls on state minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak at the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park conference room at ICT Tower in Agargaon, Dhaka on 24 November 2020PID

India and Bangladesh will work together to invest in Bangladesh’s hi-tech parks and develop and flourish the Information Technology (IT) sector of the country, reports news agency BSS.

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Vikram Kumar Doraiswami and state minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak discussed the matter at the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park conference room at ICT Tower in city’s Agargaon area on Tuesday, a press release said.

They discussed various issues of mutual interest, especially human resource development, development of IT industry and employment generation with the financial support of the government of India to implement IT or Hi-Tech Park establishment project at the district level (in 12 districts), the ongoing progress of information technology sector, investment potential in the ICT sector, technology transfer and cooperation in building a culture of start-ups, it added.

Palak said at present, India is financing the project of setting up high-tech parks in 12 districts of the country.

Another project aimed at setting up the Bangladesh-India IT Training and Incubation Centre is under implementation, he added.
Palak said under the visionary leadership of prime minister Sheikh Hasina and under the overall supervision of her ICT affairs advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the work of building a digital Bangladesh is continuously moving forward in the country.

The Indian High envoy noted that there are many opportunities to work together for the sustainable development of the IT sector, adding that the partnership with Bangladesh in other sectors, including the ICT sector, would be further enhanced.

He said that according to the vision of prime minister Sheikh Hasina, the progress of all sectors including ICT sector of Bangladesh is visible in a short time. It will go further in the coming days, he added.

He said that co-operation between the two neighbouring countries in developing the ICT sector would be further enhanced in the future.

You do know that there are a good portion of companies in IT parks in calcatta that are scam tele-marketing companies?
Targeting people over seas and domestically.
Its been on YouTube, by a famous YouTube that has travelled India.

This should be prevented at any cost !

I am serious. These guys will sabotage anything and everything at the very first opportunity !

Why do you feel we are the most evil country in the world and blah blah blah blah blah 😒. You don’t want no problem, go domestic then.

India needs to help itself. I always find it funny how this country can be so poor and still act like some Asian USA.

Collaboration is something that means joint work. We want collaboration with our SAARC nations on various things. But you came here to troll anyway. We never said we will offer our services etc.

Even Chinese are preparing red carpet for the IT giants from India. As we speak, Indian companies are increasing their presence in the mid of pandemic and turmoil relation with India.
Also include Saudi, Malaysia, UAE, Indonasia...

Thanks but no thanks.
Its just setting up some buildings, water, sewer, power, and high speed internet connection.
As far as sourcing business deals Indians will be last people on earth to help Bangladesh.

these guys going to squeeze all the juice out of the IT sector, which is literally a headless chicken with no direction or vision.
And stop adding "digital" with literally every Bangla word; its getting annoying at this point.

Now Bangladeshis will come and abuse our IT Industry. They don’t need joint ventures with their very own neighbours, they need joint ventures with countries which never came forward to help them.
We’re coming for your head. India will go out of IT business, #undercutthenaniyas

If Indian IT majors come to Bangladesh, they will be abusing and skimming off the hard labor of our IT workers just like they do in India.

What the Bangladesh govt. should have done (and did not do) is independently incubate development of local IT services companies per the likes of Infosys, HCL and others in India to compete with them. If needed they could invite Bangladeshi IT leaders from all across the US/EU to bi-yearly or quarterly conferences to present papers at the very least.

IT services businesses are price sensitive anyways, competition over $1 an hour rate is significant even when rate is $100 billable to IT services companies. With lower Bangladeshi costs (half that of India), Indians would have eventually lost to us.

But we have a gandoo govt. with clueless amateur ministers like Palak who has no practical exposure to overseas IT services business, so there you are.

Once in a while he makes a yearly trip to Silicon Valley with zero results. Even his boss Mr. Joy could not help. Joy is just happy with getting the several crore allowance from mom every month. He's supposed IT 'transformation chief', what the heck plan-wise has he done in the last three/four years in that role? Nada, Zilch and Diddly squat. Every minute we are squandering away opportunities Indians are monopolizing to the hilt. It's not like we don't have people with IT smarts within our borders...they're just cursed with clueless leadership, so they make do with freelancing, where we are easily beating India hand over fist.
