India to hire 50,000 paramilitary personnel, build Unified spy grid to fight terrorism

The Centre is setting up a super spy network to tackle insurgency and terrorism.

The finance minister has allocated Rs 39,659.99 crore (up by 16%) to the home ministry, with a separate head for setting up the National Intelligence Grid, which aims to link all vital databases — including individual tax, banking and travel details — under one system.

It also plans to hire 50,000 paramilitary personnel during next fiscal.

Pranab Mukherjee announced ex gratia compensation of Rs 9 lakh to paramilitary and defence personnel who suffer 100% disability due to injuries while on duty.

Home minister P Chidambaram said, “It’s a balanced Budget that will promote inclusive growth. The FM used the projected increase in revenues to augment investment and larger outlays on education, health and security.”

why not they add more numbers in army??
our paramillitary is weak, neither they are enough capable nor they have good equipments.
they were blown by the naxalites in mass numbers

.why not add numbers to army..
10000 is enough for para..
we could raise another mountain regiment.

Army cannot be used for fighting Naxals or the morale brigade in media and human rights will be all over the janpath. paras will be used to handle internal threats. National grid is good development, it will help in better sharing of intelligence from different agencies.

1.) Its the smart way of doing things, ;) if we increase the numbers in the army we will be called war mongers and will also attract the world's attention. No one will appreciate it.

2.) India is adding ten thousands of para military personals with out getting much highlight also we can say these are to tackle terrorism and maoist.

3.) But the reality is the these recruitments are for the benefit of Army, our Army is tired and tied up in tackling terrorists etc. If we add more number of paramilitary forces then they will free our army from stress and fatigue.

Then Army will be free to tackle what they should be doing that is threat from china/paf.

4.) BTW, Army is already adding about 50,000 to 70,000 soldier in the name of mountain divisions, Sikkim Scouts, Arunachal scouts, Assam Rifles etc. etc. ;) ;)

You know instead of increasing paramilitary numbers at this rate, we could increase the lethality of each soldier manifold by providing them with basic BPJs, ballistic helmets and good assault rifles.

spy grid means, they are going to collect intelligence and co ordinate all sectors..
so sort of IB work in open isn t it?
