India to build structure that will outshine Taj Mahal

Quite true. If Indian genius could make Taj, it can make one better as well.

This building seems a monstrosity, at least from the pics.

And yet many historians would disagree with your indian genius idea, some say that the taj was designed by a Persian.

He was a hired hand and was duly paid for his efforts. Doesn't take away anything from what I said.

I somehow knew this was going to end up in the usual good ol' historical "who are we?" debate.

. .
And I need to smoke what you are, a hindu monument. Yeah and what next the moon is yours too.

Did I say I believe it?? I was pointing to the Hypocrites disguised as historians who shape such rumors, designed in Persia by Persians, an Ancient Hindu monument. Blah blah and of course blah....

It does it is indian by default, and by luck. What if Shahjahan had decided to build it in Lahore or some other city in Current day, Pakistan or Bangladesh. Then what. Its in india now an indian monument, but twisting the history is not a good thing. It was build by a Mughal king based on Persian and Turkish, and Islamic Architecture, with a hind of south Asian influence in it. But by just beating the chest and saying that it is indian and yada yada yada dont make it a fact. Its a collective history of us all, Urs mine and every one elses.
I pitty you guys who at times curse these very Mughals for being hindu slayers, and then you dont waste a beat to claim their monuments. And also discuss in a civil manner dont go out insulting people.

I said that it was built by Indian artisans, Indian money and Indian material. It was commissioned by the then ruler of India. That makes it wholly Indian.

Yes, India of that time also comprised of the parts that separated during the partition.

Those parts are foreign countries now and their people are foreigners.

Yes, we did have a shared history. I never deny that.

Mughals had become Indians after staying here for a long time and becoming permanent residents. If they had any bad points, no point is hiding that as well.

After being defeated and ruled over a 1000 years by invaders, the Indians are keen to express that they posses some sort of sci-fi civilization to be proud of.

Since you are so obviously an Arab wannabe (even though they treat you no better than a slave), just know that your masters were under invader rule for a thousand years.

One can witness a pervasive sort of racism, a form of Saudi supremacy that views other types of Arabs and particularly the South Asian expats (who are mostly labourers) as inferior and mere ‘commodities’ who can be bought and sold ruthlessly. Expats are not human beings but a commodity to be bartered and acquired.

Little attention is given in Pakistan about the treatment of Pakistani labourers. If the Saudis will not speak about the suffering of these people then why should we remain silent? It is understandable that Pakistanis within Saudi cannot protest, but why do Pakistanis living outside who have witnessed first-hand the harsh treatment of their fellow citizens choose to remain silent? The Gulf countries practice a modern day equivalent of slavery, and our media should be more vocal about it, instead of weaving tales about Mossad and RAW.

The treatment of Pakistani labourers as sub-humans is deeply pervasive. The underlying logic of this treatment is that a non-Saudi can never be an equal; they are always meant to serve. Pakistanis like to criticise Europe’s hostility to immigrants but the anti-immigration feeling in Saudi Arabia is deeply toxic and yet it is never scrutinised.

It is simple, isn't it?

When you talk of IVC, it is suddenly about modern geography. Many of you claim (erroneously) that IVC was in modern Pakistani territory and is therefor exclusive Pakistani history. Even though Pakistan obviously separated due to Islam and Islam had nothing to do with the IVC.

When it comes to Mughals and these monuments etc., suddenly you claim they were Muslims and therefore you are their inheritors.

Fact is: you guys are mostly converts and have nothing to do with those invaders.

Its an old news..heard it a year back...the idea behind creating this building was to create a man made cloud high up in the sky, which would be illuminated by different colour lights that according to the weather...and peopl could enjoy being on a cloud hanging up in the air.....definitely not even comparable to Taj mahal , but i wouldnt say its ugly....anyting like this needs an architectural genius....not much but excited, but I take it just as a sign of growing India.
