NEW DELHI: The Indian junior men's hockey team pummeled a hapless USA 22-0 in a one-sided contest to record their third successive win of the Sultan of Johor Cup 2017 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Wednesday.
For India four players - Vishal Antil, Dilpreet Singh, Harmanjit Singh and Abhishek - scored a hat-trick each. While Harmanjit top-scored for India with five goals, Abhishek followed with four goals while Vishal and Dipreet each sounded the board thrice. Maninder Singh struck twice and Pratap Lakra, Rabichandra Moirangthem, Raushan Kumar, Shilanand Lakra and Vivek Prasad scored a goal each.
There were 10 different goalscorers from India but their opponents USA failed to score even once, succumbing to a humiliating defeat.
India began their campaign with a 3-2 win vs Japan and then defeated hosts Malaysia 2-1 on Tuesday. They next face Australia on Thursday and will meet Great Britain in their final league match on Saturday.
