I remember coming across lot of young Indian female uni students back in the days, fewer men which was odd. Much more will come now.

great feat... now Indian Doctor will land directly... I pray they don't blow it off by awarding fake or or selling degrees.

They will still have to do the PLAB, my cousin who qualified in Medicine from the US got a job at BARTS Hospital in London and had to complete her PLAB and was like WTF? ... :D

This is just an easier way for middle class Indians to get out of india.

Once they come as students - they never go back. They always try and get a job in the uk and stay.. etc.

That is perhaps tit for tat policy. The US won't recognise UK PLAB tests. I think Australia does. Anyway, strange rules for UK if it needs quality doctors from the US.

Agreed, its a bizarre policy.

It is a great move to get this agreed, more Indian students in universities means more £££ for UK universities. The issue this resolves is the fact that Indian students were having issues getting government jobs as they would not recognise the qualification or demark it like they do in Pakistan to A-Levels results.

What this does mean for Indian Graduates coming to the UK - a saving of money spent on UKNARIC. All other checks and balances would still apply.

Currently, there are many core employees and leaders in US corporations who are Indians

The same thing happens in other western countries like UK, France, Germany...

In the future, Indians will dominate the United States and the West in all fields: from science, technology, economy to military, politics

The new Student Visa rules make it easier for anyone - not just Indians. I have a few kids from my extended family in Pakistan who have now settled in UK in the last year.
New rules allow 2 year of work visa after completion of a UK degree (Bachelors or Masters). They both did one years Masters courses and got their visa extended to work here for two years, the employers liked their work and offered them a work permit now after 5 years on the work permit they will be able to get ILR.

This is according to current rules but as this route gets used more and more they will most likely extend the ILR for this route to 10 years. Also at any given time they only give visa extension for 2.5 year so every time you apply they are charging £££.

I am pursuing the same route. I hope for tier 1 'global talent visa' but I wasn't the 'leader' in my field. Anyway, easy for all professionals to settle in UK. People mustn't waste this opportunity.

I know its a golden opportunity, why spend £20k per year on a three year degree, when you can spend £20k on a one year masters and get a route to settle in the UK legally whilst working.
I do think and I have been telling everyone I know that if they are interested they need to jump on this ship now because I can anticipate the rules changing soon as soon as they realise how convenient it is for most of the middle class in Pakistan and India.

1- They will remove all post graduation courses as eligible for this route. (they have started to loose too much money with people preferring not to do bachelors in UK.
2- They will increase the time required for ILR via this route just to make more money.
