India supports Iran's quest for n-power

Cherry Picking for sure ... but to prove a point nevertheless. The claim made by an Indian member was towards support to Iran's Civil nuclear program.. and the definition of a civil nuclear program are clearly defined by the IAEA regulations. As long as Iran is adhering to the generally accepted guidelines, we will support.

Sure, I agree India has been a supporter of Iran in the past and so has Iran been to India. I am talking about present scenario leading to predictable future and things are going down for both of them. So the fact remains with future in view that India is going to try to pretend to be an ally with Iran but factually new lines has been drawn for both countries. So, baghal me churi mo me Ram Ram is asserted.

I don't understand your fascination with the proverb, maybe it is popular in your area. But for sure there is no 'Churi" pointed at Iran, at best you can term it as a soft support rather than with a concrete affirmation and at the same time being apprehensive about the actual intentions.
But at present I see it is a difficult balancing pole for India especially with the US, but if you look at US policy it is also in similar lines as of India. They do support civil nuclear programme, but as long as Iran refuses to cooperate in proving it, there will always be tensions and apprehensions.

There was never any line drawn for us; even US is fine for civil nuclear power but wants that Iran should show its plants to IAEA like all other nations have; which Iranian government for some reason is not. This makes others suspect that they want nuke weapons.

We always supported their right to civil nuclear energy. It is just that we don't accept nuclear weapons.

Yes, I agree with you. But as a matter of fact India needs Iran and if making flattering statements solve the purpose then I guess it is worth it..
