Featured India successfully test-fires Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile system in Odisha

So, the same agency developed 2 systems for the similar air defense job (35km vs 40km)?
Akash is for static area defense whereas QRSAM will be a part of armoured formations.

different truck.
VSHORADS and QRSAM are of two different categories.
We will acquire South Korean K30 BIHO for the point defence role whereas QRSAM will provide cover to the battlefield.

So, now is the real question: what is going to happen to AKASH?
Akash will still remain in service with Indian armed forces. Most recent order for Akash AD system was placed by IAF last year.
Complementing @FlashGordon post...It's called the QR-SAM because it has a speed of Mach 4.7 while other air defence systems developed by DRDO and currently deployed with the armed forces like Akash SAM or LR-SAM/Barak-8 have speeds of Mach 3+ and Mach 2 respectively
The word QR in QRSAM has nothing to do with the speed of the missile but its ability to acquire, identify the target, and launch the missile within just 30seconds. Israeli Spyder AD system in service with IAF is also referred to as QRSAM. These AD systems with better reaction time will provide better protection against low flying aircrafts and cruise missiles.
