India & Russia to jointly develop new Nuclear submarine

The nuclear submarine claim seems to be bogus.

I feel they could look at developing midget submarines for tactical roles in the sea.

Maybe even look at developing unmanned midget attack submarines (UUVs) with short-range high-yield explosive torpedos to take out gunboats, pirates and even aggressive maneuvering countries' ships.

200 million is just an initial amount for design phase only. more info below link also some info on
P 75I

The design consultancy for the project is pegged at under $200 million, something that could result in savings of immediate payments for the Navy for its next-generation submarines.

wikipedia is unreliable source @undertakerwwefan :hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall:

Go check the sources. They are in wikipedia. Or are you too lazy. Wikipedia is written by professionals. You want source? You got source. 64 crew in Yasen. That's less than half on Virginia. That's how advanced Yasen is.

The Yasen-class measures in at 390 feet long, with a displacement just shy of 14,000 tons. It has a crew complement of 64, which commentators say suggests extreme automation of ship systems. Its maximum operating depth is reported to be almost 2,000 feet, and it can travel up to 20 knots without breaking silence beneath the surface.
