India registers strong protest over US military sale worth $125 million for Pakistan’s F-16s

Khush raho ! Sada suhagan raho ! now you have my ashirvad for your thanks.
No the thanks is to the Indian state for allowing Pakistan to buy critical components like RD93, despite having the power to stop them anytime. It is amazing how at one side Indian leaders threaten to stop rivers flowing into Pakistan, but then allow RD93.
Actually its only and only our power that you see US President not being supported by their own house after trash talking... this is something you can never experience.. mercy of Trump lasts as long as he plays with you to get his Afghanistan job done. Once done.. its back to the customer India !!
Trump is not supported for his trash talk in general US - but yes in India's case it is the power of India that has made the US Congress revolt against him, not his racism, not the fact that Democrats have majority in House, not his border wall rhetoric, not his trade war, not his tweets but only the ‘Power of India’.

And Dear Sir: Since you know of matters beyond everyones comprehension here - Afghanistan cannot be a job done, it needs to stay as a job done.
When US forces withdraw, they will lose an instrument to implement their policies on the ground and protecting their interests, hence the leverage of Pakistan doesn't seem to decrease. Surely India has shown its gratitude here again, just like it continues to for a couple million dollar RD93 despite importing 10+ billion dollars worth equipment (s400, t90, submarines, su30 etc) from Russia; and also despite the fact that Russians have no reason to love Pakistan due to the one sided role played by Pakistan during Soviet War in Afghanistan. I once again thank India for its gratitude.

Why...these are historical facts, Indian nation was slaves of Mughals(Muslim rule) for 250-300 years and about 190 years of the Raj period, the British colonial masters rule...how can't there be slave mentality...

And where Muslims under British rule? Don't exclude them from the equation.

Yes countries who have no enemies have no real friends as well...everything is transactional and the only constant thing is interest.

This would make a great slogan if it weren't so nonsensical. Any country not pursuing its interests should not be called a country at all.

I think we should also protest with france against rafaele sales to india

It's called bargaining power. And India is perfectly using it. It's a game beyond your capabilities. All you can do is pray that baniyas don't play their cards well the way they did to get you on grey list... All the best Pakistan!

Indian hue and cry also depicts how much they are fearful of F16s. No wonder this magnificent plane kick their asses on feb 27.

Also I can sense defensive and apologetic tone of Indian posters here that hey this is standard protest of their govt when ever such aid is given to Pakistan by US, nothing will happened and bla bla bla.

Indian media always love to use word "aid" . When it clearly say its sale. It is not free.

When Pakistan FO start sharing India's human right abuses, may be India would think twice before protesting against Pakistan.
It's about time Pakistan shall filter it's FO from the people appointed and promoted during Zardari rule.
Most appointments done during Nawaz era. From Haqqani to Chaudry all were PMLn blue eyed. Don t give exemption to Nawaz the biggest crook.

India has registered a strong protest over the US approving a proposed military sale worth $125 million for Pakistan’s F-16 combat jet fleet, calling in the American envoy in New Delhi to convey its “grave concern”.

Days after the meeting between Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Donald Trump, the Pentagon announced on July 26 that the state department had approved the proposed deal for “24/7 end-use monitoring” of the F-16s.

“We have taken up the matter with the US ambassador in Delhi, as well as with the US government in Washington through our ambassador. We have expressed grave concern over US military assistance to Pakistan,” external affairs ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told a regular news briefing on Thursday.

People familiar with developments said the US envoy was called in to the external affairs ministry for lodging a strong protest.

In response, Kumar said, the US side had informed India the “proposed sale does not indicate any change in the US policy of maintaining a freeze in military assistance to Pakistan”.

“The US has publicly stated the proposed sale is intended to enable the US to continue technical and logistics support services to assist in the oversight of the operations of F-16 aircraft in Pakistan’s inventory,” he said.

Trump snapped military and security aid for Pakistan in January last year after accusing Islamabad of resorting to “lies and deceit” in return for billions of dollars of assistance over the past two decades.

However, the warmth displayed by Trump during his first meeting with Khan last month and the US reliance on Pakistan’s support for pushing forward talks with the Afghan Taliban had led observers to conclude that Washington might resume military aid for Islamabad.

The Pentagon statement announcing the proposed sale had said it was cleared after Pakistan requested a “continuation of technical support services; US Government and contractor technical and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics support to assist in the oversight” of the F-16s. It had added that the proposed sale “will not alter the basic military balance in the region”.

Randi rona shuru .

Pakistan's frustration of India's objections are understandable.

But from purely strategic PoV, remember such objections blocked a previous FMA deal for F16's. You would be surprised to know it wasn't the foreign office but the expats that blocked the deal, a massive number of Indian student organizations members and their alumni flooded their senator's offices with letters and emails to ensure US taxpayers were not subsidizing Pakistan's Military assets through payments towards CSF.
US wasn't in mood of giving us back anything those days either.

As I said this game your beyond your capabilities and even comprehension. be happy with the deals that were allowed to go through :)
Allowed:lol:
That deal has caused builtup of almost 150+ 4th Gen fighter jets on your borders.

thats called hoping. Wont crash your hopes. I have mine too ! Lets see what happens next.
Nothing would happen except US sending it's TST personal in Pakistan and opening path for further upgardes or deal is never done and Pakistan goes for opening up these Jets for upgarding them.

Why is india protesting for mere maintainence contract ?
What will india do when pakistan gets those F-16 block 72 and F-35's claimed in other thread ?

Too much of frustration. Last time Modi got F16 deal canceled. Let us see what happens this time.
