Pakistan, on Thursday, accused India of politicizing the UN Security Council’s Sanctions Committee by making unfounded “insinuations” against it, days after China blocked India’s move calling for action against Pakistan over 26/11 mastermind Zaki ur-Rehman Lakhvi’s release.

Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said that a recent complaint by India against Pakistan was discussed in one of the regular meetings of the Sanctions Committee on purely technical ground and the committee decided not to take any action on India’s demand.

“Pakistan therefore rejects any insinuations and politically motivated moves and attempts that question its commitment to the UN Security Council’s decisions,” he was quoted as saying by Radio Pakistan.

India had demanded the UN Sanctions Committee to take action against Pakistan in the wake of release of Lakhvi in violation of the 1267 resolution of the UN dealing with designated entities and individuals. China, a close ally of Pakistan, had blocked India’s move in the UN calling for action against Islamabad over Lakhvi’s release on grounds that India did not provide adequate information.

Kahlilullah said Pakistan supports and respects the decisions of the Security Council while India on the other hand is in open violation of its various resolutions particularly relating to Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

He claimed that Pakistan is fully complying with its international obligations with regard to implementation of UN sanctions and the monitoring team of the Sanctions Committee, after visiting the country in January, issued a positive report on measures to implement the sanctions.

A Pakistani court had on April 9 set free Lakhvi, a development which India said “eroded” the value of assurances repeatedly conveyed to it by Pakistan on cross-border terrorism.

Responding to a question about the BBC report alleging that India is providing funds to MQM, the spokesperson said the concerned ministry was looking into it.

He added that interference in the internal affairs of any country is in violation of the principles of the UN Charter.

When asked about construction of wall by India on the Line of Control, Khalilullah claimed that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and under the UN Security Council resolutions on the issue, no side is allowed to alter the situation on the ground.

Pakistan also rejected Afghanistan’s allegations that ISI or its officers were involved in the recent parliament attack and promised to support reconciliation process with Taliban.

As Pakistan has an independent judiciary, the Indian government can appeal the court decision to release Lakhvi within Pakistan's judicial system.

Look who is talking

As Pakistan has an independent judiciary, the Indian government can appeal the court decision to release Lakhvi within Pakistan's judicial system.
and expect the proper verdict :chilli:

Who cares. I hope he remains out. Pakistan is hurting itself by allowing scum like him to roam the street and radicalise more of its own youth. More youth radicalised, more years of eating grass.

India should honestly stop looking at what Pakistan's judiciary is doing or what the Pak government is up to. Let them create a mess of their own and worry more about Kashmir and baniya Hindus than they ever will of their own citizens. They are their own worst enemies.

I agree with that.... But the question is how many in Pakistani citizen's believe in this so called "Independent Judiciary" especially when it comes to terrorism.......

What is this suppose to mean? Normally guilty walks out due to lack of evidence and that same here in Pakistan. Provide solid evidence and make an appeal in court. That's the proper way to do it not by throwing your wishes.

Military courts is what is required....as per lots of comments. 'Independent Judiciary' gets swayed by cars as per that thread.

Well TBH i have no idea the state of judiciary in Pakistan..... and Ideally it should the way you suggested..... But the impression i got from PDF (from several sane members) that they do not trust the judicial system (i would edit the word a bit from judiciary) when it comes to Terrorism.....

Even the Pakistanies on the form will be laughing at this post,if you had have visting threads other than related to India, you would have seen Pkaistanies also pissed out at the way judiciary let terrorist free.

Nice move !! although the outcome was pretty much expected. Now, onus is on to Pakistan justifying its action...& appears they are struggling. One more twist to the screw on Lakhvi issue ...

I don't even understand why India insists to take some action against Pakistan on this issue??Lakhvi and Saeeds are actually accomplishing a great goal which India never hoped for free.See,when cry foul on Terrorism,Whole world raises "Red Card" and shows them their "Homegrown Terrorists and Assets".They're maligning Pakistan each day on world stage.what better we need than creating a "Totally Biased View in International arena against Pakistan"??

I do think that possibly India's plan all along.every now and then raise this issue, create a furore and humiliate them in International arena, just like Israel did to several Arab countries.generally covert strike against these assets invites International condemnation.I don't think India should go that way.we're evil baniya after all. :smokin:

by the way,China blocked "Action against Pakistan" for time being, but as these criminals are enlisted in UNSC 1267,Pakistan Judiciary and their verdict can take a hike. They'll remain as UNSC 1267 enlisted.

Just as many pathetic indian beggars sleeping on the roads of mubai (indian) care about being squashed (like the cockraches they are according to a tweet) by indian superstars....
Oh and he gets a bail and is free, good man walking :D
