India plans to build $5bn power plant in Iran

Hey guys can some one kindly explain if this power plant is being set up in Iran for Iranian needs or Indians are going to transmit the power to India from this plant?

^^^I thing you're not yet read the news properly.

Simple reason, Every countries grid station system has its own designs, all follow same concepts but sometimes designs & flow mechanism is different. If something happens in our grid system, tripping or any natural disaster knocks out some part of the system and that system is also transporting electricity to india, the Indian electricity will also go down. So a straight line will insure smooth flow of electricity until something uncontrollable happens & the power of electricity will be normal, mixing with our grid station will decrease the actual power needed & line losses will increase resulting expensive electricity & wastage also.

The IPI also went to the end where signing was just left but India withdrew, it may change but i doubt it that Americans will keep quiet.

I have checked, Pakistan use 230 volt at 50hz, and India 240 volt at
50hz. Here as frequency is same, voltage is not an issue. As in India the equipments are operated in between 220-240volt. And about failure of Pakistani grid system, well why to take electricity at one point? I mean India can take electricity at multipoint from Pakistan.

About line loss. there would be less line loss. As India will not use same electricity that Iran will provide. Instead Pakistan will use that electricity and India well get Pakistani electricity at border.

So i was asking if so what is the Iranian share in this project in terms of benefits

And the funds for maintenance would also go to Iran?

India doesn’t share immediate border with Iran so what would be mechanism for transmitting the power?, power lines, maintenance, which areas the lines/line will pass through ?

What would be the price of this electricity after all the estimates when it reaches the consumers in India ?

About the mechanism of transmission, read the post of "SAM DHANRAJ"

About price, maintenance and areas for lines, the answer is "This is a proposal from the ministry of external affairs." So when the proposal will be approved, everything will be decided later.
