India Pips China, US to Emerge as Favourite Foreign Investment Destination

I have no idea of what's going on here. But I am pretty sure that FDI to China in first half of 2015 is somewhere about 70b. What's here is the so called greenfield investment. I have absolutely no intention to "undermine" the achievement of India, but at least getting the figures right.

India data includes "projected" + Sure that china is much more than 70B. Looks like we started paying to foreign media too :)

China’s foreign direct investment in first half of 2015 rises 8.3pc to US$68.4b | South China Morning Post

Please be informed that these figures are for investments in Greenfield Projects, not the overall FDI inflows.
The article clearly states it @doublemaster

The article explicitly mentions greenfield. A quick read would have saved you much confusion.

Modi needs more FDI to make up for declining exports and falling corp earnings since he took office.

It just confirms how heavily dependent India is on western money.

Haq's Musings: Can Indian Economy Survive Without Western Money?

It is not that Westerners invest in India to develop it.
They see huge benefit here. It is pure business or simply a give and take agreement.
Even the great China will go to shatters if westerners withdraw their investment.
It is all economic logic which I am unsure would be comprehensible by you.
Is Pakistan even fit enough to comment on this ? What is your country's FDI inflow ?

Pakistan received $709 Million FDI in 14-15

Strategic interests guide investments, not the other way around. Hence the reason for western FDI in India after the end of the Cold War.

That is not even 30 % of this meagre 31 billion India received.
Spend your brain on improving your nation rather involving in mud slinging.

What you said actually suits China. Because China benefited from the Cold War.
Please understand international diplomacy before posting here.
Strategic interests will drive investments only up to an extent.
The real push is how much ROI an investor will get if he invests in a country.
As per your logic, USA is a strategic partner of Pakistan for decades. Why didn't it invest in Pakistan but is investing in India and China?

Just look at the data. The ROI in India has been consistently and significantly lower than many other countries, including Pakistan.

These are musings of a mullah.
they do not carry much weight.
I agree Hong Kong but Pakistan ????
Hong Kong akin China did the hard work and grew. Don't tag your country with them for easy fame and popularity.
That is worse than stealing and begging. First do the hard work and then boast.
