We are talking about the progress made by China, which has reduced its CO2 emissions while India's emissions have continued to grow despite the fact that its energy consumption and production is much less than that of China

We are talking here about SO2 emissions, NOT CO2 emissions. Two totally different gases. And China continues to be, by far, the largest emitter of CO2 gases in the world.

Yes, but there is no use of bringing in CO2 emissions here. Bringing down SO2 emissions so dramatically is no mean feat. We should complement them on this achievement.

Look at the Co2 emission percapita at the right hand side. China's Co2 emission per capita is on par with EU. Or you are blaming China has too much population??

Actually, considering China's big scale manufacturing activity (50% steel globally, 1/3 of the vehicles globally), such a low Co2 percapita is worth praising, especially if compared with other less-industrialized countries, e.g. Canada, Saudi Arabia, UK, Poland,etc.

For the So2 emission between China vs. India. The manufacturing scale of India is significantly smaller than China. Just to name a few
- electricity production: 6143 billion kwh China (2016) vs. 1419 billion kwh India (2016)
- steel production: 808 million tons China (2016) vs. 72 million India (2016)
- automobile: 28.2 million units China (2016) vs. 4.6 million India (2016)

Considering the much smaller manufacturing scale in India, and the So2 emission is even higher than China, that's actually the most scared point from this research report of Nature!

Politics aside, you need to wake up for the sake of humanity. CO2 emission in China is going to be reduced, there is a plan for it, per capita emission is even lower than India when your level of industrialization is not on par. The most dangerous is SO2, it's not even per capita but total SO2 emission. This can only mean your power plants are extremely inefficient and most likely ALL do not have SO2 scrubbers.

Sometimes bashing is good for you, China was bashed by our independent and free media aka the WESTERN MEDIA who scrutinize us all the time. Look at the progress made.

Also this electricity is not really wasted. What happens is that people living in slums and illegal houses often just directly connect to electric lines running near then without meter. So the electricity appears to have been lost but a part of it was actually illegally pilfered by people.

Transmission loss rate refers to line loss rate.
It depends on the good design of grid. Given the giant size of state grid, the tiny illegal consumption will contribute no more than 0.00001%

Another smart Alec article. The graph say it's 2013 data. Why not you used 2003 to speak more lies? If you bring out a 2016 or latest 2017 data. India will be put to ashamed. The New Delhi smog tell the world something
