US called India and asked to stop which we never did. They asked Beijing to intervene but Beijing was not in mood to meddle. Then US moved its Naval ship in Bay of Bengal due to which USSR said not to get involved and hence they moved their naval ship to Bay of Bengal. In any of the cases, We didn't bother to take our attack back but on opposite note, Pakistan pulled back its force after a call from US during Kargil. Rings a bell?
pulling back was a mistake (in my opinion) but if you want to talk about Kargil (which i'm always happy to do) we can take it to relevant threads
We are talking about India and not Pakistan. Even after being poor, we tested N bomb in 70s and won many wars which of course you are trying to ignore. We had NAM as foreign policy and what was Pakistan.. a pet of US or Nothing.
By being ostensibly "allied" they turned a blind eye to our nuclear program (until later on when we exploded the bomb). As for the cold war politics - it suited our agenda very well. We werent pressured to do so at all. Not sure what you're even trying to insinuate there. If we were a "pet" then going by the exact same logic, so are/were you
We don't care about Yanks not earlier and not today. We are focused about our profit if sometimes carrot works for us through US then we do it, if not, we ignore it. We didn't bother for Economic sanction so Iranian oil is petty issue anyways, we are working with Iranians for Central Asia route through Chabahar so your this argument is invalid.
indian oil imports from iran are on the decline, b/c of western pressure. You couldnt even pay them on time, which is why Iranians seized an indian state-owned oil tanker not too long ago
Regarding your fallacious theories of Indian agencies working against Pakistan, come up with logic and proof and then we will talk. Right now, you are just jealous that Afghanistan prefers India over Pakistan due to many "war" gifts Pakistan given to them including their favorite Taliban.
and yet Ghani won the election - crushing india's dreams to have another puppet like karzai in power...your argument is obsolete and no longer applicable
there's nothing to be "jealous" about b/c history books wont be kind to india vis-a-vis its role in Afghanistan.....history books sure arent kind to the soviets or the brits who preceded NATO
Pakistan is taking order from US or China in following cases :-
1) Pakistan's strategic decision is still "influenced" by US or China. e.g. US asked to pull back your forces in 1999 .
2) Pakistan's soil was and is still used by Americans for their "inherited" interests. Be it Soviet war in Afghan or Taliban to Drone missiles.
3) Pakistan's International decision are still focused toward China or US. e.g. NS "recommended" in SAARC to add China in to the same.[/QUOTE]
Pakistan isnt compellled to keep the GLOCs open. They were closed several times already and the Americans squirmed. However its mutually beneficial. Pakistani logistics companies mint money and we help NATO in its drawdown, while getting excess defense articles such as the MRAPs and other equipment.
China is our neighbour and we're trying to get them on board vis a vis Afghanistan as well (already happening). Pakistan is a security seeking state, we're just working to keep indian influence in check. That will be including Sri Lanka too in the coming years, as you are already aware.
