New Delhi: A young Indian side went down 0-2 against China in their opening match of the third Asian Men Champions Trophy hockey tournament at Kakamigahara, Japan Saturday.

The Indian team, made up mainly of junior players, let in two second half goals -- in the 50th and 55th minutes -- to begin their campaign on a losing note at Gifu-ken Green Stadium.

The Manpreet Singh-led India play hosts Japan Sunday. India had picked 13 juniors in their squad of 18 in view of the Junior World Cup to be held here next month.

The Indian team made up mainly of Junior players. :victory1:

China is a new player and yet she beat India who has a LONG HISTORY and EXPERIENCE in this sports.

Doesn't change the fact that Indian team was made up of junior players.

Its like Bangladesh and Afghanistan reaching 2010 Asian Games final, and then Bangladesh going on to win the Gold medal. Not because they have the best Asian cricket team, but simply because stronger countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India sent their 2nd string team to the competition

Are you saying that the Chinese side had SENIORs playing ?

SO shame on India then....even OLD AGE players beat Young Indian Players

lmao yes all the "old age" Chinese senior players suffer from arthritis. You can't win against Hafizzzz logic :dance3:

LOL! Bangladesh also sent a 2nd string team, Ashraful was the only national player in the team who was in a rough patch and was not picked in the international matches anyway!

Doesn't change the point I was trying to make. And pardon me for not knowing which of the Bangladesh's team is first string and which one's second, atleast the second string team has won a tournament :yes4:

Well, you said Bangladesh sent its best possible side while others sent their 2nd string teams, So according to your logic, the best side from a nation would include only one national player that too out of form? Assuming you have the minimum logical sense to understand the reasoning. :coffee:

I never said that, you seem to have misread my post.
