Nine rebels killed in Indian Kashmir
Nine rebels killed in Indian Kashmir
Mr. Farooq of Hurriyet is shitting in his pants because the Army killed so many of his comrades. India was too soft on these militants for so many years. Now, its showtime. As they say, laaton ke bhoot batoon se nahin mante. Expect more "militaristic" attitude from India, Mr. Farooq. You losers deserve it.

Fierce gunbattles between Indian soldiers and separatist rebels in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir have killed nine insurgents, Indian army spokesmen say.
Five rebels who crossed over to the Indian-administered portion of Kashmir from the Pakistani side were killed in a shootout in the Keran area on Saturday, Lieutenant Colonel J S Brar said. Four more militants were killed in two other gunbattles in the region, Lieutenant Colonel Biplab Nath said.
Brar said three more rebels were killed in the mountains near Keran over the past three days. Both officers said the army did not suffer any casualties in the fighting.
There were no independent reports of gunbattles in the region and no rebel groups released statements about clashes.
Meanwhile, the main separatist alliance in Indian-controlled Kashmir said the situation in the region could worsen if India "does not change its militaristic approach".
"India is not serious about resolving the Kashmir dispute. It only talks about it, but its approach is militaristic," Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, said in Srinagar.
Both India and Pakistan claim all of Kashmir and have fought two wars over it. More than a dozen guerrilla groups are fighting for the Indian-controlled portion's independence or its unification with Pakistan.
More than 68,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the uprising and subsequent Indian crackdown since 1989.
India accuses Pakistan of funding and training militants in the Pakistani-controlled portion of Kashmir and facilitating their infiltration into Indian-held Kashmir. Islamabad denies the charge, saying it only gives moral and diplomatic support to the rebels.
