Oceans, lakes and rivers aren't treated to kill germs like public water supplies are, but the movement and size of these natural bodies of water may make up for that. The larger the body of water, the better the chance that any coronavirus contamination that may occur will quickly become diluted to a level where infection is unlikely. In addition, waves and running water may help disperse and dilute any viral contamination, as well.

That is very heartening to hear and have heard the same from my Dehli based friends - however they are all complaining that the state is absent. People have taken charge on community levels and are doing whatever and wherever they can.

Health services both in public and private hospitals have collapsed. Rich, middle class and poor all are affected and it is spreading fast, very fast. Any further mutation or variants will potentially be a doomsday scenario. This is a WARNING go to extreme precautionsfor everyone in your household. From children to elders. This virus is no longer containable in India. Our government and systems have failed. No one could have ever anticipated this. For all other developing countries with weak healthcare systems please note this is beyond all our capacities. Let’s work towards trying to stop the spread even if it means an ironclad lockdown or else the only thing we will have left is a body count statistic that would make the Spanish flu look like a non event.

It is a matter of resourcefulness as well. Everyone who I know who got admitted to a hospital was through some connection or reference. If you don't have that - then you are SOL...and that is what the poor lack the most.
