im surprised india has not been doing that much earlier.

it's right up there in the annexation 101 playbook. changing demographics is key if you want to hold onto disputed land.

look at western sahara, Golan heights, southern states in the US (though the great people of mexico are slowly reclaiming it), china, russia (soviet union) etcetc... Even minority governments like Bahrain, and possibly Syria. hell even the kurds in Syria do that in mixed regions they capture.

india has been really late to this party. But to change the demographics to 70-80% hindu, and having a couple of hindu generations being born there. it will be over. Now its their land, their home and their way of life being threatened. at most the local kashmiri's will be regarded as a trouble maker minority, at worse they will receive the same status of rohingya's in Burma eventually (my guess)

This is a huge threat actually, and if Pakistan is serious about reclaiming Kashmir. They have to take decisive actions to counter this.

We have never done any demographic change and it was the people of GB who had been demanding a separate province for a long time. GB has always had a distinct heritage, culture, traditions, ethnicities and etc... from Kashmir. Region of GB was forcefully conquered and annexed into Jammu and Kashmir during the Dogra reign, they carried out a series of pogroms and ethnic cleansing against the locals during that time. GB declared independence, fought for it, won their independance and made the decision to join Pakistan.

Alot of jammu refugees settled in pakistans punab and ajk if you add those and most of jammu districts in india occupied jammu and kashmir is muslim and most of azad jammu and kashmir is mostly from the jammu division and on total muslims are still the majority.

India is planning to change the demography in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) by stationing Hindu terrorist outfit RSS activists for converting the Muslim majority areas into minority, spokesperson for the Foreign Office, Nafees Zakaria, said during his weekly media briefing here Thursday.

He further said, demographic changes in IoK are clear violations of the United Nations Security Council Resolution.

We are closely monitoring the situation in the IoK, he added. RSS activists’ growing presence in IoK is planned to terrorise Kashmiris and discourage them from participating in the self-determination movement, he added.

He said, Pakistan, in line with its policy of extending moral, diplomatic and political support to Kashmiris, has sent a letter from the Advisor Sartaj Aziz to the UN Secretary General to apprise him the details on Indian plans of changing the demography in IoK and to seek UN intervention.

He said that RSS has been engaged in stationing its activists and establishing its units in IoK to undermine the freedom movement of the defenseless Kashmiris.

The Indian forces are continuously engaged in ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) and working boundary, he added.

Responding to a question, the spokesperson said that media reports have raised concerns over the Indian imports of unsafeguarded nuclear material, reactors, plants and equipments from abroad.

The proliferation of nuclear weapons of India would disturb the strategic stability of South Asia and security of Pakistan.
