Journalists Killed in India - Committee to Protect Journalists

It says journalists killed in Pak since 1992 ( if you check the figures for Pakistan) - 42
journalists killed in India since 1992 - 27

considering that India's population is 6-7 times that of Pak and Indian media is also much larger than Pakistan's . it makes India a heaven compared to Pakistan for journalists .
