Clearly, there are no easy answers to the Rohingya issue. I sympathize with Bangladesh here. It is not a rich country but still has been hosting millions of stateless people for years. The so-called rich nations of the world and China should pressurize Myanmar to obtain a stable long term solution. In the meantime, I think India should have a heart and accept a few. If we want to be respected in our neighborhood, we can't act petty. Few hundred Rohingya would not lead to a demographic change in billion plus population.
It’s 80 only. Of them 8 died already and 1 missing. Bangladesh would not mind taking them either. But problem is later Myanmar may justify to say they are Bangladeshi people. Recently Saudi Arabia is pressuring Bangladesh to give 54000 Rohingya there Bangladeshi passport as they have no status in Saudi Arabia. Later all country will start doing the same if Bangladesh keeps on taking responsibility of Rohingyas all around the world.
Bangladesh has tried and is trying to create pressure diplomatically on Myanmar but China, Russia vetoing it every time and India remaining absent instead of creating pressure on Myanmar.
