Highlighting enforced disappearances in Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), India on Monday said that in Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khans 'Naya Pakistan' (new Pakistan), you may not return home. First Secretary Senthil Kumar at India's mission in United Nations Geneva, said, "In Imran Khan's Naya Pakistan, you may not return home.

Kumar also said, "Security forces in Pakistan have gained proficiency in unlawful killings and kidnapping of people in so-called counter-terrorism operations. This has been compounded by a weak judiciary in Pakistan which has consistently failed to protect even the basic human rights of the people in Pakistan."

New Delhi pointed to the harassment faced by Pakistani journalist Marvi Sirmed, Ahmed Noorani, Gul Bhukari and detention of human rights defender Idris Khattak. Kumar said, "Targeting of journalists through threats, assaults, arrests instilling extreme fear and self-censorship exposes the fallacy of Pakistans so-called military-run democratic system."

India also gave a detailed account of cases of "enforced disappearances, murders, detentions, custodial deaths and torture of civil rights activists, representatives of local political parties and journalists" in Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir).

The statement said, "Its well documented that a large number of Kashmiri detainees are in secret detention facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Territories now for several years and they have been severely tortured by the security forces. "

The focus was also on the arbitrary detention of any person in Pakistani provinces of Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh with the statement saying, "Cries of Baloch sister Haseeba Qambrani for her brothers Hasaan and Hizbullah Qambrani, who have been forcibly taken away by the Pakistan military go unheard. "

It is also to be noted that in Pakistan, minorities have to face severe consequences. United States Commission on International Religious Freedom 2020 report has taken note of forced conversation of girls from minority Hindu, Christian and Sikh communities in Pakistan and how local police has been often complicit to it. The Sikh community in the country has reported more than 55 such instances of abductions and forced conversions in the past few months.

On Monday, India strongly raised the matter of abduction of a Sikh girl in Pakistan with the Pakistani establishment. On September 18, India summoned a senior Pakistani diplomat from the Pakistani high commission in Delhi over the issue and issue a strong demarche or letter of protest on the issue.

Last week, it came to light that the daughter of Pritam Singh, Bulbul Kaur has been abducted and being converted forcibly. Pritam Singh is the head Granthi of Gurdwara Panja Sahib. Panja Sahib located in Pakistan's Hasan Abdal is considered an important Sikh place of worship since it has the handprint of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak.

A candlelight march will take place near Pakistan high commission in Delhi on Tuesday to protest against the development. Around 50 Sikh ladies will be part of the candlelight march.

Earlier conversion of Sikh girl Jagjit Kaur to Ayesha Bibi had rocked the Sikh community in Pakistan. A court had ruled that Jagjit should go with her "husband" Muhammad Hassan. Hassan says Jagjit alias "Ayesha bibi" married to him on her own accord which has been disputed by her family.

Jagjit Kaur is the daughter of the Granthi of Nankana Sahib Gurudwara, one of the holiest Sikh places of worship since it is the birthplace of the founder of Sikhism-- Guru Nanak.

Nine family members of "converted" Sikh Girl Jagjit Kaur from Pakistan's Nankana Sahib had written to authorities asking them to make a passport for them as they want to leave the country.

Wow so much crap in one picture. This is a living proof of the fact that these people are traitors. They get appreciation from the enemy and think they r doing any good. Why dont these sell outs try raising voice for kashmiris, or dalits or sikhs and then see how india treats them.

Pakistani authorities fully deserve this. Traitors are just doing their job by doing treason. Why isn't the state doing its job by punishing treason?

The state bureaucracy is more interested in luxury items and their earnings.

LOL what are they going to do against Pakistan other than hold orgies with India?

Pakistan has a unique opportunity to flush such anti-state elements out of their country. Let such anti-state elements reveal their true colours by siding with India. It only vindicates Pakistan.

It is more complicated. These anti-state elements usually have support of the US or Western nations. Something which is often overlooked or ignored by our influentials for obvious reasons. We rely on US and Western nations for our economic needs. That is Pakistan's Achilles' heel. Every nation has an Achilles' heel. The Western nations too cannot afford to totally disband relations with Pakistan. The diplomatic deterioration would be too costly. Hence you have such an irritating cat and mouse game. You will continue to see how anti-state elements are given refuge and nurtured in many Western capitals. From PTM to BLA leaders. From "religiously persecuted" groups to those that oppose the idea of Pakistan. They are a handful, but for Western countries enough to shape their narrative against Pakistan. There is little Pakistan can do against such anti-state elements in my opinion other than let them be who they are. The best thing is to declare them persona non grata in Pakistan. Remove their citizenship. This is where the Pak state has lacked severely. India and Western countries are always going to use such anti-state elements against Pakistan, but that should be of little concern to Pakistan. Let such anti-state elements vent their frustrations and flush them out. Pakistan needs to focus on more important things.

We have clearly chosen a side. We belong in a camp that the Western bloc regards as the opposing side. Choosing a side has repercussions. You will be maligned, blackmailed and villified. We need to understand that there are no rules in this game.

Sadly, I disagree. When you let go people on Dawn Leaks, Geo's allegations on ISI Chief and many others, these people get emboldened. A Third rate journalist picks up a story from a hindutva terrorist and it becomes a main narrative in the country with a former PM propagating it with his brother an absolute terrorist roaming freely.

Pakistan has chosen to become a weak state. Writ of Pakistani state has become a joke.

I agree on that. This is where the state lacks severely. Geo and Dawn are a few that come to mind. The state should ban such media groups which are working against Pak interests. Unfortunately their backers are predominantly India and Western nations. Specifically Western nations pressure Pakistan to allow freedom to abuse and undermine the state. This often happens behind the scenes or even openly by allowing dissidents refuge on "humanitarian" basis. There are many other forms, but you get the gist.

The state should definitely ban Geo and Dawn in an ideal world. Openly declare such media groups as anti-state. Reveal their funding and agenda. It won't happen though. The state is too afraid and fragile in my opinion. As mentioned earlier, economic interests often hamper any effective measures.

The state should rather pick influential anti-state individuals and declare them persona non grate. Snatch their citizenship and assets in Pakistan. Remember that this move too will generate condemnation by the backers of anti-state elements, but it is the least damaging option for the state. The state is too weak though. Let me give you an example. After Dawn CEO Hameed Haroon was accused of rape, the state should have capitalised. Instead the state was napping. The state is very limited in its fight against anti-state elements. The Pak state is reactionary at best when it should be proactive.

Why ban them janab? Why not discredit them first by opening new govt backed channels or english news channels like TRT or Press Tv and then when their revenue drops sell them to pro state business owners.

Or why not simply declare them as tax evaders and sell them off?

Or ban them for a few weeks to bleed them financially and then sell them? So many options to make money.

A state has a great deal of power. What lacks is an intention to act. I have had the chance to closely watch the bureaucracy of Pakistan, I can only say nukes should be used against them first.

Yes, discredit them too. My point is, do whatever necessary. Unfortunately the people in power seem to be powerless. How else can one explain the lethargic approach? You have Hussain Haqqani, a former PML-N and PPP goon sitting in the US and working against the state of Pakistan. You have Nawaz Sharif an absconder sitting in London. You have Altaf Hussain another anti-state asset living in the UK. You have BLA and PTM terrorists getting refuge in US and Western capitals. You have media groups like Dawn and Geo who openly propagate against the state and are funded by hostile nations. Yet, the Pak state doesn't take the necessary steps to tackle the problems.

If you and I get the picture, it is hard to understand why people in power do not. Sometimes their options are limited, but mostly it is a cowardly and a lethargic mindset. It is unfounded fear from the unknown.

Yet these leeches are invited every other day on our mainstream media as analysts, seriously Pakistan is a funny place, nothing like this happens even in the weakest states. ISI has been unsuccessful in securing our mainstream media in the interests of the nation and this will have long lasting reprecussions.

India really knows how to compromise its assets. The only way these guys can make a living is by selling themselves. Worse than prostitutes. Every country has them.

Yes every country has them, but the difference here is that these leeches get invited every other day to comment on national issues on mainstream media, that does not happen anywhere else.
