What's new

India developing high power e-bomb, laser gun

I think they should focus more on delivering credible defense systems rather then churning out lofty statements. India desperately needs a reliable bullpup assault rifle, artillery and a point defense fighter. They're way behind the curve on conventional weaponry so I don't understand why they're diverting resources to such 'ambitious' projects. They should spend every last dollar on making sure existing projects meet expectations and more importantly, deadlines. An EMP won't do much good if the airforce is at 2/3rd's of sanctioned force levels. India can double its firepower by simply modernizing its conventional forces to current standards. It makes more sense to acquire high end weaponry (tech. transfer) from allied nations rather than reinvent the wheel.

Well, you have got a point. But let me ask you one simple question:
Why was the DRDO established in the 1st place??
The answer is......to develop technologys required for strategic weapons and ones which are denied to us.And DRDO was to be solely a technology development entity like DAPRA and not to be used for setting up production engineering capability,it was to be done by the DPSUs like BDL,BEL,OFB,HAL etc which they've repeatedly and consistently failed to achive and every time DRDO had to divert its scarce manpower and limited resources to clean up the mess created by the DPSUs.For example-OFB manufacturing faulty FSAPDS rounds, low quality materials for INSAS,BDL lacking quality control leading to subsequent failures of Agni 2 IRBMs,BEL being unable to manufacture several parts of Rohini 3d CAR despite technology transfer by LRDE and there is numerous more examples.
And most of the items you mentioned like bulpup assault rifles and artillery guns are not something out of DRDO's reach neither denied by international exporters.ARDE had developed a bull pup version of INSAS assault rifle which IA rejected to even test. And w.r.t artillery guns,ARDE had developed a 185mm L52 heavy field gun as far back as mid 80's but again IA even rejected to test it.So we can't blame DRDO for what was done by IA export lobby.

Why always reveal your secrets century earlier than development?
Rather than properly completing existing projects like LCA ... DRDO is boasting again about futuristic technology which one can understand how long will it take to be operational ... Even USA is not having much luck with Missile Shields and Laser weapons ...

. . . .
as the economy is doing good... we will have more finances to invest in R & D and we are already buying latest technology. I think JV is the best way to move forward.

Then why is your ars* burning so much??

Nothing much has changed in 3 years too bro ... Feel free to refute it

i will give u a list of what has happened in the last 3 years......

in 2008, india was behind pak in missile technology, now we are ahead of it......
the armed version of dhruv, Rudra, first squadron will be raised next year.......
we will finish our nuclear submarine by the end of this year......
we will finish our aircraft carrier early next year......
124 arjun MK1 tanks have been inducted already.........
we have almost completed our own AEC&WS system.......

i could go on and on, but that should be enough for now.....

Three years is along time and yes a lot has changed don't forget India and Pakistan are two different countries and our needs differ.

Quoting a 3 years old article!!Seriously dude!!Who made you a PRIMIUM MEMBER??!!You tried to troll so hard but failed in that too.Well, better luck next time.
Good Night.

come on yaar if india was any good at developing weapons you wouldnt be giving billions to countries buying weapons. I mean just accept your lot in life you are a timid lot that are not very good at developing weapons for a country your size simple as that

oh and check out the spelling of premium even i can get that right lol

Both Arjun and LCA had immense delays and the latter is still on the test bed ... Last time i heard , the IA wasn't satisfied with Arjun tank and had to induct it just because it had no other choice ...
How exactly did India surpass Pakistan in missile tech just because we haven't tested a new missile due to foreign pressure ?
Both aircraft carrier and nuclear submarine were build with Russian assistance ... The same like JFT and Al Khalid ... so i can hardly call them indigenous ...

firstly, i did not mention LCA in my reply....secondly, delay in arjun program doesn't matter since it has been inducted now.....
india has better missiles now....don't give excuses about pak inability to develop new missiles.....
there is no comparison between Al Khalid and IAC, al-khalid was a western tank made on license in pakistan, just like sukhois are being manufactured in india, india designed the complete IAC, russia provided only a minor technical assistance, if u have to refute my claims, post any link here.....
