Actually its the first advanced Advanced Heavy Water Reactor - This is the first prototype commercial Thorium reactor in Asia . Earlier we had prototype experimental reactor only!

Actually why it took so many years to convert the prototype to commercial Thorium reactor? Also If I am not wrong there are many other places in the world where this of reactor is already being worked upon..

During that period, the government of the United States also built an experimental molten salt reactor using U-233 fuel, the fissile material created by bombarding thorium with neutrons. If we can make it happen on Earth, it can be done on MOON as well. That would full fill Energy need on moon for future Moon Exploration. Moon has Huge Thorium reserve.

Wtf? Do you have any of idea of escape velocity of gases and atmospheric escape??
Moons escape velocity is slightly more than 2kms/sec...its weak gravity cant hold an atmosphere...no matter how much oxygen you dump into it....it simply escapes into space!!
Only gas possibly that can stay is xenon due to its more molecular wt...that to barely!!

Not feesible right now, but in future it should be.

If water reserve could be found in the moon, that would save the expenditure of carrying the water from the earth to the moon, because each kg is worth millions. Why searching for moon, the best place for such dreams is two satellite of Saturn One full of water and covered in ICE and one full of methane, both have the chances of some form of life.

Janaab water particles discovered in moon is a great news to the whole mankind, because it confirm, that water was present in the moon in the past and confirm, the theory that moon was created when it gets parted from the earth when an asteroid collides with the earth thats why the rock composition brought by the nasa is similiar with the earths rock.

Do you know that the life on the earth is due to the Moon, because the moon revolving around the earth actually slows down the earth revolution on the earth on its axis, thats why it creates less hostile, high wind environment on the earth and favorable to the life form what we got on the earth. And Moon is actually coming close to the earth at very small rate some cm per year, and when it will comes too close to the earth, the condition on the earth won't allow the life form on the earth.
And moon is responsible for the safety of the earth, because its gravitational pulls actually absorb 99% astroids flying in the earth solar system.

I give you an example - An air craft carrier , what is the ROW material for an air craft carrier ? Nuclear fuel or diesel Generators, Right! that is a basic row material to run the mother ship. Likewise TH would be a basic ROW material to RUN a base on the Moon , we have solar panels on International space center but you cant take Solar panels to Moon. You might say "Yes " you can even if you do so, that would not be sufficient. Because of obvious reason we would need a lot of energy to RUN our machines that would produce water and Oxygen for us, till the time you use it as a base. That could be filling station for your Spacecraft as well. The point is how we gonna make that happen. Is it Really pain to understand.

Now you are talking in the sensible way, Pls avoid releasing O2 in moon type statement away.
Thorium could be the fuel for the lunar base for LFTR thorium reactor. But it is already abundant on the earth,
Few of my points are

• Sudden Moon love to various countries arises due to the Helium and rare metals
• India is not only the one who is doing research on the thorium based reactors, infact Chinese are also very interested in that
• India have fast reserve of thorium in its shores, that is capable of providing power for 100 years
• Lunar mining could be possible, in future when it become more fessibile, but right now NO.
• Hydrogen and geo thermal energy is the key to the unlimited source of energy on earth

When I was young during the discussion with my friends I propose a train to the Moon, and every one laugh on me. Actually with the train I was referring to the long Maglev track build underground in the mountains, and in the end a long tube in which vaccum is created which is higher as much as possible say 10,000 feet supported by Iron strings, which could Sling Shots the Robotic controlled transportation vehicle accross the gravitational barrier with the escape velocity of 11.2km/s that could take the material from earth to Moon, which could be our intermediate base for the space exploration journey. Well it looks fantasy, but pretty much possible.

@Nilgiri @MilSpec @nForce @PARIKRAMA @Abingdonboy @Blue Marlin What is your take in such idea for transporting the material, That would require 100 of KM of vast free space, say some lone Island of Andaman and nicobar Island, in which a big Mountain is there, where a thorium based reactor would power the whole Maglev track, which is a tube where vaccum could be created, and a vehicle which could move in that tube in circle, to achieve such velocity and then released like a sling shot to escape the gravitational barrier of earth, and later journey thru small booster rockets. The landing on the moon thru baloon and booster rocket to slow down the speed.
