there is a difference while the so called aid actually reaches NGO's that work for american interests..Ngo's protesting against Kudankulam nuclear plant being built by russia are sponsored by USA.. on the other hand Pak receives military and civil aid from usa... where your govt and army are directly involved..

I wonder if they teach school children in India about president Harry Truman's India Emergency Food Assistance Act of 1951.

American food aid was crucial in averting a massive famine in India that would have killed tens of millions. What's interesting was that much of that aid was actually animal feed for American poultry and livestock, especially cows.
Also in the aid were low grades of beef that would have otherwise been thrown away. Many Hindus ate that beef with no complaints.

Yet, the offsprings of these millions of Indians saved by American generosity grew up to badmouth America. Is there a people more ungrateful? America opened her arms to those Indians who sought a better life they couldn't have in India, and American aid money continue to improve the sanitation and nutrition crisis in India, but Indians school children will not learn about American kindness.

I don't understand why many Indians scoff at Bobby Jindal. If given a chance, millions of Indians would do exactly what Jindal's parents have done: escape from India and move to America. At least Bobby Jindal is aware of American humanitarian endeavors in India and is grateful as a decent human being should.

The same cannot be said about the rest of the Indians.

I still remember in the late 60's having visited quetta with my dad when one of his friend told my dad that America provides more money to India despite being considered as more Pakistan friendly.

More than 50 years has passed since than and i must admit that he was right.
