food is food, and who doesnt like tasty food````but British really dont have any say about food```fish & chips and red lips``going to the sea side```that sums up british cuisin 'culture'

Because this kind of food is associated with India. This food was developed by North Indian Muslims ( Under the patronage of Mughal dynasty - my ancesters ). Most of these dishes use beef and Hindus consider cows sacred so they had no input in the development of these foods.

You have got to be joking. Most of this food does not use beef but chicken or mutton.

I like all types of food if made well. Chinese is one of my favs, my lunch often looks like this-

Do you deny that Indian food outside of South Asia is generally considered to be historic North West Indian?

The food tends to be Mughali food, which is eaten by almost everyone in Pakistan but would it be fair to say not even 50% of North west India?
How many of you guys are eating Nihari? or beef kababs?

and just about every Indian restaurant I went to that was owned by Indians had a vegetarian section, so I am sure that there are some non Mughali dishes in there, but realistically non vegetarians rarely if ever eat those.

One major difference between Pakistani and Indian food and that is the amount of oil used. Man, Pakistani food is full of oil they use at least 10 times more oil in their dish than any similar Indian dish. I tried Goat/Chicken Biryanis at many places. Pakistani Biryani as usual comes out too oily for my taste and compare to that nothing can beat authentic Hyderabadi Biryani which is way less oily and way more tasty.

you are actually thinking of Punjabi food.
Punjabi food, both Pakistani and Indian is really high in calories due to the people being mostly farmers in the past.
They also use too much sugar and have high rates of diabetes

I mostly eat Punjabi/North Indian food and I know the calorific counts of most of the dishes. But I found, at least in US, most of the simple Pakistani curries or meat dishes to be way too oily compared to the similar North Indian dishes. I am not a sweet fan so much so that i don't add anything to my cup of coffee (I like it black and strong) or a cup of tea.

I too enjoy chinese food Chilly chicken/Crispy fried chicken or Chicken Manchow soup can't start meal in restaurant without them:cheers:

PS:- i know what we get is not Authentic chinese food but a IndoChinese version of it..but still you gotta love the taste:bounce:

I tried it at many places and this was the case even with Biryanis.

You do realise that Nehari is a dish from Lucknow right? And its not very popular in Western countries. Lucknow is not exactly North West India. Ditto with a lot of Kebabs that are popular with Pakistanis, they originated in Awadh, Delhi and Bihar, and Mohajirs brought them to Pakistan.

Beef is consumed in India as well. The only popular Indian beef dish is Western countries that i can think of is beef vindaloo and is Goan in origin. Rest all are chicken and mutton base dishes, at least the popular ones anyways. If people have to eat beef they usually go to a steak house, not to an "Indian" restaurant.

Yes they do, and some also get upset over pork. But people still eat it anyways, specially states down south and in north east.

Not really, people eats beef in India too. There are some states protecting cow slaughter.

Also not that Canada is saved by migrant people. She has an unique opportunity to get best of English manners, French Cuisine and American technology. But it got English Food, American manners and French Technology :D

Thanks to Asian migrants Canada get good food now :P

Dude, a LOT of it is invented in UP or Delhi. Even Nihari is a Lucknawi dish!

And most of the food does NOT have beef in it other than some specialty items. Most of the Mughlai food has Chicken or Mutton.

LOT of people in South India eat beef along with NE Indians as mentioned by Roybot.
