What's new

India-Bangladesh relations.

God damn, they call the fcuking huge/massive/superduper influx of BD'is into India a 'small group' of people crossing over!

In AP, the intial population of Muslims was 4%, now its 40% and guess what, 90% is Bangladeshi. They come in hordes !

The author calls the 71 war as India intitated ! heh and sees the indo us nuke deal as being against BD !
WTF? Since when has BD become a strategic threat for India !

You will find that the comments were made by an Indian and a doctorate at that.

I hope you have not mugged Blitz because he was asking the right questions. I am awaiting a response but he apparently deleted his comment. I hope you are not pressuring other Indians on this forum to follow your lead.

A 2006 book by Dr. Kalidas Baidya (a former RAW officer) discloses the contents of the 7 point agreement.

Correct me if I am wrong ... Kalidas Baidya leads a group fighting for seprate Bir Bango since 1973 ... I cannot find anything on web connecting him to RAW .... can you please also let me know name of the book ..... I need to do some reading to acertain facts ...:D

Dr. Kalidas Baidya links himself to a RAW team led by Chittaranjan Sutar during the 1960's in East Pakistan. The activities of this group can be found in Asoka Raina's book on RAW and another two books on the same subject by Zainal Abedin and Ibn Rushd. I have also used all three sources as well as many others in my book The India Doctrine.

Well everything is from a book and no links are available for them.

I am surprised you get time to even read PDF format books with RAW paying you to sit in front of a computer screen all day and write garbage.

I see that Bull is even prepared to undermine other Indians who disagree with him and even intimidate them into silence.

What a load of crap.

I thought that Blitz wanted to have a serious discussion. What happened?

But you said RAW pays to you kind of people. You see they know.. who can be made suckers.

I have been reading the debate Mr. Munshi. I did not want to get into it because, unfortunately i am not as well versed with India/Bangladesh relations as other members here. Obviously i know all the arguments from the Indian side, but i also wanted to know opinions from the other side, to get a balanced view of the whole thing.

If you want to know my opinion, i would say that Indian leadership has sometimes behaved in a condescending manner with its smaller neighbors.
But your views about RAW destabilizing the sub-continent at the behest of Indian leadership is quite unfounded and frankly delusional. [i actually sometimes wish RAW could do it to Pakistan though].

In fact, contrary to your belief, if it is India's aim to become a major global player, it must prioritize its neighbors over anyone else, even the US. No nation has ever become prosperous with hostile neighbors at its borders. Only when the sub-continent becomes stable and economically integrated, can India reach out beyond the Indian Ocean. Same is for Bangladesh who, due to its geographical position, will have to get over the paranoia and integrate itself with sub-continental economy, otherwise it will be stuck in a time warp forever. Both sides will have to make compromises, sometimes difficult ones.

And that is why i was interested in knowing what can be done to normalize the relations between the two countries.

You are one of the very few Indians on this forum who seems to be able to discuss issues in a civilized manner.

I think I am allowed to disagree with this statement and I suggest that you read books and articles on RAW and their activities by Asoka Raina, Dr. Kalidas Baidya, Mohammed Zainal Abedin, Ibn Rushd, Shireen Mazari and Gp. Capt. S.M. Hali.

There does remain the possibility that RAW may act on its own initiative like a state within a state and could ignore the government. But this interpretation raises a lot of difficult issues about the state of Indian democracy and accountability of your intelligence agencies.

Any country would want to have peacefull boundaries around it. India already have issues with China and Pakistan, i dont know for why the hell would they want to create issues with B'desh and then to civert moe asset and money there.

Whats India's interest in distabilising B'desh? Pls dont say annexing it, we dont want those sick guys with us.

Munshi, there are no extaconstitutional authorities in india 'state within state' unlike our eastern and western counterpart i.e. intelligence agencies, Armed forces... they all work under civilian control and if government of the day feels that some arm twisting is needed then they have tools like RAW and IB to complete that objectives ....

Open you eyes and ears and see the difference these agencies donot function without approval of elected representatives ... did you ever hear that IA or RAW or IB conducting ops without approval from cabinet ... unlike our neighbours ...;)

remember Op Kargil where PM says he was not consulted or COAS throws out elected govt .. shame .....
