Kailash Satyarthi, Malala win Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace prize is awarded to Indian Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistani Malala Yousafzay. The Norwegian Nobel committee today announced the prize, an award that comes with a $1.24 million check.


So, ironically, India and Pakistan, in the midst of ceasefire violations, share the peace prize.

Religion is a way of life and it has far reaching effects over society...

It does have influence over good and bad within societies and civilisations ..

One can not write off religion's impact over these issues ...

However I would have been happy if it would have been ' region ' instead of ' religion '

Maybe they wanted to say- sure malala deserves the prize, but if you think only Pak has a problem, it's equally bad elsewhere. In any case that is a pointless debate. the work that Kailash has done seems to be really awesome, he deserved on merit as much as malala anyway.

Congrats to the winners but honestly, they are not that deserving to win the Nobel peace prize!

Malala Yousafzai is an inspirational personality but I'm not sure if she had made significant global impact. May be too soon?

About Kailash Satyarthi, don't know much about him but going with his wiki page, his organization Bachpan Bachao Andolan has freed some child labors and street children in India which is commendable but where is the global impact? Also, I guess there are even more successful organizations in this field.
