Never used nor heard of it. Why not you travelled to China, dl the app and see for yourself. The same goes for the 'ghost towns' visit them like Wade Shepard. Don't just read western media .... Seek the truth. And you will return sour..lol

Multiple people have reported that it is compulsory for all state employees and many private ones too to download it. Research it and you will find about it.

The inital Chinese sources talk about compulsory came from News York time. The rest only copy and paste that report. The earliest TV news in HK report about the App on January had no mentioned of any compulsory. I live long enough in HK to realise there were bad news about China later proven to be wrong, multiple people have reported it doesn't mean anything since we have no way to verify their claims.

If this news is in fact true and a big deal, there should be a big talk in civilian level since we have hugh connections between the people. We have none at all, the only discussion so far I can find in the largest HK forum was posted by a known paid toll that alway spread anti China news and people that participated in the discussion mostly thought that as fake or over exaggerated one. Let's be honest, what harm have it done if you only have to download a stupid App? Do you really believe that people would get fire if they don't use that App?

I never rely on western media alone. Also, western media is useful when one knows what to trust and not trust. I have this information directly from two of my friends, both of whom have got Chinese spouses who work in the state sector and were forced to get this app.

Everyone can make this, it only shows apps available, I m asking the download ranking lists and numbers of downloads as the list I provided issued by professional organizations.

A screenshot showing apps available in an app store and western media claims that a never heard of app is the top download app in China, the western media and Indian cheerleaders are really losing it.

Xi create a ' social credit score" in CN to make sure that all Cnese must do what Xi tell them to do. If they failed, then they can not buy ticket for plane and train, also can not borrow money from the bank and the police will come and arrest them once day.

The rebuttal from the PDF Chinese that they have never heard of this app and that make the whole thing a global conspiracy -- is silly.

But never mind that...

Soon enough, the defenders of this app will say that it is no different than studying history including the history of living prominent figures. On the surface, it seems a fair enough defense. But the difference is WHO is the origin of this idea and how is it executed. We know that China is essentially a one-party authoritarian country and that governmental figures must be members of that party. Objective study of history would include the oppositions and would contain equal shares to each other. We can doubt that this app would be anything remotely being fair. Mao's Red Book is not the only time a citizenry is either compelled or even forced to focus on a single figure. Before Mao, it was Marx and Lenin. We can call this 'repeat' as Xi's Red App.

The average Chinese would not be forced to use this app, but their RECORDED lives would be better if they do use it. It is well known in science that if you can quantify something, you can predict its behaviors, and if you can predict you can control. Or at least have a high confidence of being in control or at least influential to that something. It is like controlling the behaviors of the lead sheep and the flock will voluntarily follows.

How about not being promoted at work? Not qualifying for better loan rates? More difficult to travel? A lower 'social credit' rating would be compelling enough, right?

The fact that you keep avoiding the main issue is a certain sign that you know this app is true and that its intention is anything but noble.

It is practical from the perspective of maintaining psychological control of a citizenry. It is creative in exploiting social media. There are many ways we can praise this app. But am sure you know what I mean here...
