J&K militancy to blame for sour ties, says Imran

LONDON: Cricketer-turnedpolitician Imran Khan has blamed militancy in J&K for soured India-Pakistan ties and called for an end to it for a new relationship and peaceful resolution of disputes.

"Any issue on Kashmir (between Pakistan and India) should be dealt with on the table . It should be a political settlement of Kashmir, no longer encouraging militancy or using militants to achieve your objectives," he said in reply to a question after a lecture at the London School of Economics on Tuesday.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf head was alluding to Pakistan's support to militancy in Kashmir since 1989.

Imran Khan said that the militancy was not going to work and had caused enough damage between the two neighbouring countries.

"We have to live with them (India) in a civilized manner.'' The Oxford alumnus also called for a new ties with India "where we decide that all our problems will be decided politically".

PTI stance on Kashmir issue is clear, that Pakistan will not back from its legal, moral, rightful and just claim over the territory of Kashmir with whom we are tied in religion, culture, civilization and blood relations... however, as to what strategy should Pakistan opt is what IK has explained that it should be non-militancy, as the prime stance of PTI is "peace not war". therefore, it must not be mistaken in any way.
