The innocent and ohh so masoom awam needs to reflect upon this. We tell the world we are a poor country yet any fast food chain in any big city of Pakistan looks like it is giving away food for free. And we like to import gora food from West. So we can act like gora himself.

Another takeaway from this video is why do people hate him and generals like him who are actually able to talk like civilised human beings and what they say actually makes sense. Yes there used to be a property dealer generation of generals but this present lot has come up fighting a dirty, grueling war and realizes that survival of whole concept/existence of Pakista is hanging in balance. Maybe there still might be some corrupt "afsar" minded foujis. But Army as whole seems very very serious and committed.

Accountability should not affect govt policies and focus to improve economy. Here in every speech ik focus is on past corruption of opposition but there is no focus on future goals and measures to improve economy and plan to achieve this goal.Govt should not hide it self behind anticorruption and not use it as a tool to divert attention from wrong economic policies and its bad decisions .
Exports cannot increase immediately and will require time for setup of new industries so until then people have no option but to import goods.Govt current policies are discouraging new startups so it will be difficult to get rid of imports in near future

As Imran Khan said in one of his interview, we have to create wealth.

But he didn't said clearly said "how" to create this wealth even if he talked very briefly about production oriented investment. But again he didn't said where his government will invest, or which policies he will have to facilitate production oriented investment.

Fighting against corruption is one thing, but it won't alone bring developpement.

I understand well his stance about sick guy who is in critical condition will be stabilised first by emergency team and then the sick guy will recover and why not progress to a better condition than before.

The sad thing is that a country is not a simple guy, it's a multi dimensial complexe entity who need multi parallele treatments :

- antibiotic against corruption
- chimio against the 5th gen war driven against us
- physiotherapy to help replacing importation by locally produced goods
- nutrionist driven treatment for the economical and industrial development the increase
exportations.
- etc etc...

and all that in the same time.

He raises some good points but is confusing personal consumption with government spending on imports. If a lay person wants to buy an imported car and pay the crazy amounts of custom duties on it, its his choice. Same applies with a phone etc. Same applies to personal businesses buying or importing from abroad for whatever they think the market wants.
The government on the other hand can impose additional costs to drive certain behaviors such as not importing fruits and vegetables etc but imposing restrictions on certain cell phones for eg will only drive people to smuggle those or get them in the country one way or another and now you have created a second problem while not solving the first.
