Incorrect. Jews had been vanquished long before the region heard the Muslim call to prayer. Islam came to dominate this region about 800AD. Christianity hads already become the dominant force in this region. Ever heard of the Crusades? It was fight between Christian/Muslim. No sight of Jews. Jews had lost out in Rom,an times and with Roman Empire accepting Christianity the Levant was Christian territory until rise of Islam. Islam did not take it off from Jews but from Christians.
