Its not range of Iron Dome, its range of rockets which Iron Dome can shot down.

What's the difference between the roles and capability of David's Sling and Arrow 3?

Iron Dome - protects vs. artillery rockets with range 4-70+ km (that includes Grad, Uragan, Smerch etc).
David's Sling - protects vs. short range ballistic missiles with ranges from 40 to 300 km (that includes Luna, Tochka, Fateh 110, Scud A, Scud B) + cruise missiles.
Arrow 2 - protects vs medium range ballistic missiles (Scud B, Scud C, Scud D...)
Arrow 3 protects vs. medium range ballistic missile intercepting them in space (Scud B, Scud C, Scud D...)

So David's Sling is more like S400+better capability against cruise missiles in its role , and Arrow 3 a dedicated ABM system ?

Has Arrow 3 capability upto against IRBM/MRBMs with >90% kill capability when facing multiple salvos of such ballistic missiles ?

David's Sling should be better than Patriot Pac-3, Arrow-3 similar to THAAD, but cheaper.

Also , against Tactical Ballistic Missile like Nasr of Pakistan , or say Guided Smerch rocket , which would be better , David's Sling or Iron Dome?

Iron Dome should be enough for these. David's Sling can also deal with them.

Yes, but David's Sling is specialized vs. ballistic missiles for others its only secondary option.

Sure u dont need very powerful radar for 35 km range missile. It can be used as prime weapon of some missile boat and as secondary weapon of large ship.


Iron Dome was developed from Derby missile, so its range should be 16-20 km.

Arrow 2/3 - two batteries are enough to cover entire Israel (probably except Eilat). So its range over 100 km. For anti ballistic missiles altitude is more important. Arrow 2 altitude is up to 50 km and Arrow 3 - over 100 km

Yes, Iwhat you say is correct. Israel was planing to make Barak 8 with 150 range and you rightly said that Israel would have made it. We increased LRSAM range to 90 km without any booster and by adding booster to this missile, range can further be increased.

F***king congresees screwed us with deal. We should've had a better partnership agreements like Brahmos, in development of this missile including furture variants.
I hear Parrikar is renegotiating the contract.
